Working at anything then watching, listening and acting to form a direction of another path. Night school, paying for college working at a fast food restaurant. 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 01:54 🧠 Train your perception: Stoicism teaches us to control our judgments, reframing events positively, and not letting emotions cloud our rational thinking. 06:31 😡 Control your emotions: Stoicism emphasizes redirecting emotions, not suppressing them, to make rational decisions and maintain a calm mind. 10:00 🤝 Exercise the dichotomy of control: Differentiate between what you can control and what you can't, focusing on actions within your control and embracing fate for the rest. 13:06 🌟 Embrace the virtues: Stoicism promotes wisdom, justice, temperance, and courage as virtues to cultivate for personal and societal well-being. 16:36 🌍 Embrace a broader perspective: Step back to see the bigger picture, consider the interconnectedness of the world, and ask introspective questions to make informed decisions and promote the greater good. Wisdom from the old times we have lost in todays vanity and need for attention. Immediate gratification is our doom, we need to embrace life as it is, and when it arrives as well it presents itself. I believe virtues are a long lost art, Im going to make it a point to reflect on my own decency’s after watching this video. Thank you for reflecting the old way into the new path in life’s way.

This video was a brilliant reminder of how Marcus Aurelius's timeless wisdom can guide us in cultivating a clearer, more balanced mindset. The five lessons on training perception, controlling emotions, and embracing a broader perspective offer practical strategies that are so relevant even in our fast-paced modern world. I loved how it underscored the importance of aligning our actions with virtues like wisdom and courage. Thank you for breaking down these powerful teachings and showing us how Stoicism can be a path to inner clarity and resilience!

Marcus Aurelius: 1 - Focus on What You Can Control "You have power over your mind - not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." 2 - Accept Impermanence and Change "Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking." 3 - Practice Self-Reflection "He who does not reflect is a ruined man." 4 - Develop Resilience and Endurance "Very little is needed for everything to be upset and ruined, only a slight lapse in reason." 5 - Live in Accordance with Nature "Objective judgment, now, at this very moment. Unselfish action, now, at this very moment. Willing acceptance-now, at this very moment-of all external events." 💪💪💪

The average life expectancy when Marcus Aurelius was around was about 35 years. I'm almost double that now at 62 years old. Most people had it rough back then, even "thinking things over".
@peterwong8028 Жыл бұрын
This is true but it's because the infant mortality rate was so high which brought down the average. If you were able to live past say 10, then living into your late 50's early 60's was not uncommon.

If you are new to these videos, pay mind to this comment. At first, the advice in these videos may seem just like another one of the many "inspirational motivational" videos on KZbin. This is not the case. Meditate, journal, reflect on the quotes and teachings of the ancients mentioned throughout this channel. I promise you brother, i promise you with all my being. This will change your ENTIRE perception. It is a game changer. This is the way that man was meant to live. This is what father's should have taught their children. Stick to your mindfulness. In times of hardship, these teachings WILL override your emotional, kneejerk responses.. and that will make all the difference in the world to you. I cannot ever express the gratitude i feel for these videos. Thank you.

The US-Stock Mrkt had been on it’s longest bull-run in history, so the mass hysteria and panic is relatable considering we’re not accustomed to such troubled mrkts, but there are avenues lurking around if you know where to look. My wife and I are retiring this year with over $7,000,000 in tax deferred investments. up until 3 years ago we were 100% in the S&P. During bear markets we had a perfect plan. We got an investment manager in our corner and didn’t look at our portfolio for nearly a year

Something people contribute to 3 times a day or more for convenience, taste pleasure or upholding tradition while contributing to destroying the planet we all share. Look at what you are voting for with your dollar. Do you really agree? When you know better, do better. Give this planet love for all to come

Success is not for the faint of heart. It takes hard work, dedication, and a willingness to push yourself beyond your limits. You must work harder than anyone else if you want to achieve your goals. It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. Every time you put in the extra effort, you're one step closer to your dreams. Don't settle for mediocrity, don't make excuses, and don't let setbacks hold you back. You have the power to create the life you want, but it starts with working harder than anyone else. So roll up your sleeves, dig deep, and give it everything you've got. You must work harder, but you will reap the rewards of your hard work. Let's go
