I really love seeing not just the different journals you’ve used and created, but also that there are pages left open. I’ve finally come to terms with the idea that there’s no one journal that you have to stick to-it can be whatever suits your needs at the moment. I’m also trying to be okay with not finishing a journal. Or better yet, acknowledging when it’s okay to move on to another journal. I used to drag myself to get to the last page but often times would stop journaling all together bc getting to the last page became arduous which took the joy out of journaling. Anyway, really enjoying this series! I’m learning so much from you!

I love Carol Ryder's Bullet Journaling book. I also was put off by the elaborate tracking systems and brush lettering. I keep mine simple, with just lines and text for my schedules and planning. I have a separate notebook for journal writing in long form.

it's always a pleasure to follow you and it is never too long - I generally like all styles of "journal art" very much (even if I find it's hard to use old books that have a soul) but the européan bullet really don't inspire me with these calendars to fill in, I find it boring to condition my day - I'm already too much into the headache, I have to escape - thank you very much, you are inspiring and don't doubt your talent , (hope you understand i'm Belgian)- 🙏👍 have a nice day

This was a great video overview of junk journals, and journaling in general. I love your style, and your hits and tips. I have to say that my bujo style is very much like yours and depending on the season of my life, it can be very structured, or very minimal. I struggle with the whole idea of journaling, but this year it is one of my aspirations to try and journal at least once or twice a week.

That was good. I mainly watch videos re making journals. I see pristine journals, so it’s interesting to see how journals are used. I use a simple smash journal that I don’t write in. I write wherever I am on whatever I have, then I “smash” that note into the journal. I also tuck ephemera in. It’s easy! I do not have the discipline to otherwise keep a journal.
@1134Press3 жыл бұрын
I love little stuck in notes in journals! I’m not the most disciplined either. I always have multiple journals going to match what mood I’m in at the time. Thank you for sharing Mara!

that was so much fun. i resonate with the independent study you created using a junk journal and dedicating it to the fairy tales as well as the journal about your final year of studies. However, i fail miserably when faced with a journal...my deep dives look like boxes of scrap paper with scribbles and clipboards filled with the same. QUESTION - i notice some wax seals in your journals. Did you press them directly on the journal page or did you press them on silicone and glue them in. I love the idea of the seals but i live in a dry hot coastal desert other folks call Southern California and i can't see the seals staying put or, for that matter, not melting. i really had a great time with you today...thanks for your work
@1134Press3 жыл бұрын
I can also relate to the piles of paper and scribbles. I have a whole full of folders of papers I should probably purge lol. I mostly pour them directly onto the page. I find the ones that pour on wax paper and then stick on later with glue or double sided tape end up falling off eventually. I've never been to California, it looks so dreamy over there! Thank you for watching!!!!
@treemerryweather3 жыл бұрын
@@1134Press thanks I always wanted to use wax seals in my stuff and i was concerned about the adherence. good to know. and i agree with the person below it is like a commonplace book about one topic.
@naja48243 жыл бұрын
Instead of using wax, you can use glue gun :)
@1134Press3 жыл бұрын
@@naja4824 That's a great tip!
@treemerryweather3 жыл бұрын
@@naja4824 i love that idea - the wax sticks melt nicely and without soot and there's no flame for me to deal with. I love the range of colors in the wax sticks and, though i have zero experience with glue guns, i think it could be fun.

I use a mini Polaroid and I love it! It's small enough to take with me anywhere. Th only downside is that the film can get a little expensive. But the size of the pictures works great for me and I like the vintage feel of them.
