My favorite quote concerning Christian rock is from King of the Hill; "Can't you see? You're not making Christianity better, you're making rock music worse."

The Simpsons Critique: "Isn't it hard to switch from Contemporary Christian music to secular music?" "No, you just exchange the name 'Jesus" with "baby."

I believe that was South Park unless - like many of their ideas - the Simpsons did it first. Either way it's hilarious cause it works sooo well haha

You need to hear Clowncore. Nothing can prepare you for it. I can not describe it to you. All I can say is that whatever you're imagining Clowncore might be, it's not that.

My guess would be ICP, but I'm guessing not. OK. Wow. That's pretty niche. It's definitely not even close to...anything.

ICP was my first thought as well. But nope -not even close lol

@@musicbsharp any time mate!! People who create interesting or funny or just plain cool c videos should always be given the compliments they deserve. Plus, more comments helps boost the algorithm. Again, amazing work here and it also made me laugh out loud multiple times!!
@musicbsharp7 ай бұрын
Thank you again. Comments like yours really do keep me going, wanting to make more videos. I appreciate every single one. And you're right about the algorithm. (Don't tell that to the haters, though. They don't realize their negative comments actually help to boost my views haha!) And I try to do the same thing both online and in person. If I see something I like - a shirt, a hat, whatever - I throw out a small but sincere compliment. You never know who's day it's gonna make. The way I see it, the word is overflowing with negativity. I don't need to add to it. But it definitely needs more people like you willing to offer positivity and compliments. So again, last time I'll say it: thank you! :)

No mention of chap hop, one of the funniest musical genres to exist?
@musicbsharp8 ай бұрын
I'll definitely make a part 2 at some point cause there are soooo many subgenres out there to talk about. You and a few others have given me some great subgenre suggestions to include like chap hop, punk bop, virgincore, and more. Thanks!

no I disagree we need Revival genres and vintage genres I am so tired of bands and artists trying to sound like the modern corporate sound i want 60s garage punk back
@musicbsharp7 ай бұрын
I don't disagree. I actually think we'll start to see more bands/artists go for that earlier sound. Due to years of the "loudness wars," everything is over-compressed and has no dynamic range anymore. So I agree there. As for revival genres, pretty much every genre is - in a way - a revival genre. Even "new" genres "borrow" elements from past genres. If revival genres ADD to the original sound instead of just trying to copy it, I'm okay with that. But yeah, I think a lot of people would agree with you. I know they would, actually

As a non-Zoomer, “non-Neuro-divergent” person I don’t categorize things into niche gatekept categories.
@ultimateninjaboi8 ай бұрын
The idea that overly sectioning off music, and trying to gatekeep musical genres and communities is in ANY way a new thing is just... its a tradition older than anyone watching this video, much less you or i. Like, just look at the mess that is early punk and metal. That was adults in the 70s/80s. Thats Boomers and Gen X.
