I blame the people around me. I used to be a nurse in the NHS. And people from poverty tend to work in the NHS. Yes there’s exceptions but vast majority of nurses are poor and come from poverty. Luckily I started hanging around with a wealthy friend. I went into finance and I’m far from rich but I’ve doubled my salary and learnt about investing. Broke NHS people don’t invest.

This video was a dagger to my heart! Love the car video - it’s more raw. The key point for me was not working hard enough consistently and giving up too easily. We all want the soft life but forget there’s a period/stage of hard life first. Another angle of being around successful people is that you can either be so inspired or end up feeling like crap. I guess it’s just getting the balance. Thank you so much this was such a great video, plenty of gems #Sharing #Keepupthegreatwork

I have been working hard and still putting my back into it. To the point where most ppl think work too hard, yet the same ppl will come and borrow, some don't even pay back. I'm the bad one if I refuse to lend any money because I have it and not wanting to give. How do I stop lending my hard earned money without feeling guilty of not helping?

The main thing that gets me is complacency/not working hard. When working hard is required I can, however if it’s not I’m quite content to just do just above average. I love my life as is. I suppose I need a stronger reason to put in the extra hours.im single and 34. I’d be interested to know what motivates or has motivated you to work so hard

I changed roles within the same organisation to be around people that i could grow and learn from. That move also resulted in me deciding to go from part time to full time. We then all got a 7% raise...and also this new team has access to unlimited overtime. I am earning and learning the most I have ever in my life. That has all led to me being more confident and I have enrolled onto the promotion scheme.

The hardwork message is serious and it connects really meaningfully KEN because you've succeeded in making the humble penny brand LOOK good, presentable, neat and stable which I think is a branding case study success in and of itself meanwhile the blood, sweat and tears and engine within the brand's development to this point synonymous with your journey until this point could get overlooked by some and so thankyou for stressing that point as you did

Great video Ken. I share all those points. It’s good to be around good people and people who aspire for greatness, however, I only believe in myself and create my success by myself because most of the time people only want to use you even if they have made wealth. That’s been my experience anyways and so I don’t have belief in people.

I hear your point. Shame about that though. I hope that changes for you gradually.

Ken, I helped a friend make £250k in his business. He was so grateful he told me that himself. He offered me money. I refused on the basis when I’m ready to start that same venture, he would support me to get off my feet. This business is cash intensive. When I was ready to start, I told him. His proposal was let’s go in together with terms which meant I would have had to let go off my main job. This was a huge risk because that job pays my mortgage. I decided to invest on my own, still this friend could have helped me in some way so I could survive but nothing came of it. You see I ended up losing £ thousands. By God’s grace I’m still here and thriving but I have vowed never to help anyone for free, because when I need help people shy away.

@@TheHumblePenny there were some positives from this e.g. new job/bought a home/got in better shape . But I have been thinking "what's next?" for a while now. Thank you for your truly inspiring advices. They are many things I m taking from this video but I really appreciate you mentioning Mary in your succes. I do believe having a partner who share the same ambitions and goals is massive in the journey of growth and particularly financial. Another thing you mention is about being patient and hardwork to be put in, which make it easier when you're surrounded with inspiring and successful people willing to share. For that being nice and decent as you said is key !! Thank you for this video again. I was low and didnt know how and when to start. Feeling overwhelmed but this gives me courage. Excellent video,I love how your brutally honest and say how it is. It’s like your giving your audience a kick up the back side to do better and improve their lives. The most important thing I took from this video was the conversations with other parents and how much risk they are taking. We need to take more risks to get better rewards.
