Gamepass Tycoon Buttons are definitely annoying, it feels super unsatisfying when you've completed 100% of your tycoon and there's still a ton of buttons left. On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with wanting to try make a profit off of your game, especially if you've put the work in. Tycoon games really need an option where they can hide these buttons in case someone doesn't have the money, or just doesn't want to buy anything.

one of the things i have in an ongoing project im working on to make monetization less annoying is basically, players are allowed to have their own billboards and if they have a gamepass they can put decals or images on it to somewhat prevent bypassers, or just plain text. ive added an option to "display an ad" explaining how it helps me out with the funding of the game. i think the laptop idea is cool as well

You totally could. Set your mind on it, map out what you want to do and take one step at a time. You don’t have to create something BRAND new. You could make something that already exists with your own spin on it. Something I did was tried to create at least somewhat closely popular games not to copy but to learn. I’m making pretty good progress with a game I’m currently making and the experience I gained doing the other projects is immense.

My younger brother at the time who couldn't read (dyslexia), got like a 20$ robux giftcard on christmas, like 90% of it gone because of a predatory tycoon game he played once. He was trying to get the pop up off his screen. Complete scam. I contacted roblox support, they said I HAD to contact the game developer and see if they would just give it back. Obviously nothing happened. -20$ because my brother has dyslexia and was a dumb child.

I have a video idea. Use only ONE SCRIPT that makes the whole game. So the script will make parts, scripts etc. You choose what the game will be.

I know the game is very complicated and definitely has a bunch of stuff built manually but “Doors” is a game that does this pretty well. They have a bunch of hand built rooms in probably server storage and there’s one script deciding what the next doors with be over and over. Not exactly what you’re saying, I know, but similar.

If I was making a game like your idea, I’d use procedural generation similar to doors I guess is what I’m saying. I’m sure it would be possible to make the rooms/obby pieces or whatever it may be in script and save them as a table or something and call them randomly.

This is actually a pretty effective way to script (if by "one" script you're excluding module scripts and that you have one localscript and one server script). Many people use this kind of method, with one overarching script for the server and one for the client with module scripts that those scripts use to run the game.

3:54 "this is somewhat of an exaggeration", no, it really isn't I constantly see this in games, but even worse where it's just constantly these like 15 buttons on the side that say "Starter Pack!" or something along those lines, and it's all contained in the shop. They also make it "limited time" to make you want to buy it even more, making you feel like you're missing out if you don't. There's also the games that shove 15 pop ups in your face at once, that take a while to close because the "X" isn't instantly available, or it says "This is a one time offer! Are you sure you want to turn it down?" or something along those lines, and I see it most in kids games where the kids wont think twice about the purchase, especially after seeing "99% OFF!" and "LIMITED: 30 minutes" and just buy it even though they don't actually need it in terms of gameplay. Edit: I realize now he's stating exactly what I did in this comment💀

There is a Minecraft mod that adds thirst and does it well become too dehydrated vision starts to blur and you start taking damage like hunger would- drinking from a regular water source you get a thirst debuff similar to the hunger debuff you can avoid the thirst debuff by using either a charcoal canteen or cooking a water source or water bottle or using a matchbox or flint and steal in a crafting table to clean the water sources

It's kinda annoying but it's alr since it's survival game anyway and unless you are in the nether or end you can find so much water even in the middle of a desert or underground. Also dunno why I don't think cooking the water works I tried but didn't work and charcoal thing is annoying so I ended up drinking dirty water for a few irl days

I feel like if ur in a game that has an odd progression bar u can do it as long as its clearly apparent. Like the obbys with various catches “escape x” “bike/weird jumps/theme is” so u could be like “obby but u have a hunger bar” if u just join and have to keep going off course backward or dying and being reset without knowing ud be like this is the challenge i want.
