Recording, Mixing and mastering is super key as a producer especially helps building relationships with the artists you’re working with! It’s one of the best ways to provide value!

I feel like you should have mentioned consistency, and I'm not going to "disagree" with the versatility point that you mentioned but let me explain. I started producing in 2018 and I always found myself switching genres while I could've been going all in in one niche. I used to be influenced by french rap (french rap scene is actually very big), then us rap (migos, lil baby..), then pluggnb, underground artists, rage, obviously yeat type shit, etc... and looking back it maybe gave me the ability to produce in many genres but it didn't bring me to the best possible version of myself in ALL those genres. I mean consistency by improving in the same niche and posting stuff EVERY DAY in that same niche, which is what I only started doing three months ago. I realized that if I really wanted to blow up my type beat channel, I had to accept to be at the bottom and think long term, and also think like "no sales in the next six months". I got super better at making Future/Southside type beats, which is my channel's niche, and I can make my beat (when I say make, there's the whole process from creating it to posting/scheduling it) in half an hour. The rest of the time is dedicated to me exploring other genres and improving on sample making. So my point is that it's best to master one genre so that it becomes easy, and dedicate the rest of the time to improve on other things. Nevertheless I cannot disagree with all that you said, only myself is responsible for what I achieved or not. Through trial and error I realized that procrastinating on certain things like DM'ing artists leads to frustration, regret, and these negative emotions feed themselves and the cycle repeats. I hope you get my point, I'd really love to hear back your opinion on this.

#7, Robo & OD (Traxside) allowed me to master vocals first before beats - love recording, mixing and mastering always - taught me how to think from the artist perspective to make the best music Legend based

At least you have the opportunity to learn things in your native language, I think. English is my second language, and I struggle to understand many technical terms, so learning something becomes twice as hard for me. I can’t even research something unless I’ve seen a video about it or heard of it before. It feels like this knowledge is hidden like a secret (copyrights, collecting royalties, licenses, etc.)-almost no one talks about it. In my country, there’s no information on these topics even there isn’t a community..
@based110 күн бұрын
I feel you, it’s even hard to learn about in English. There’s not a lot of resources out there in general.

What if you got a million+ streams but the artist is independent and uses tunecore to post the song ?
@based111 күн бұрын
youre still entitled to your %s. should probably get an agreement in place if you dont have one already
@stevenswisher433911 күн бұрын
Tunecore/distrokid have a split option when uplaoding the song. Assuming the artist added you to the split, tunecore and distrokid will send u the money through their website. I use distro kid so im not 100% how tunecores bank is set up but in distrokid i just log in and cash out what ive made to my personal bank account
