I’ve been a huge fan of the Tales series for a long time. Especially of Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia. This game does scratch a similar itch. The combat is fairly similar. The boring thing if you're going for the platinum trophy, is that one of the trophies requires you to have 500,000 coins. Not in total over the course of the game, but at any one time. And since money isn't that plentiful in this game (and stuff is expensive), this means that you can't afford to buy ANYTHING. At least not if you don't want to spend another 20-30 hours grinding for cash later on. So yeah, it's not much fun putting in all this management and hard work, when one stupid trophy prevents you from reaping your rewards. You have to rely solely on enemy drops and your starting spells, so that sucks.

The tactic tweeker is the best method of giving the player the power of a grate being in a game I have seen so far. A lot of games try to give some kind of supper ability that makes them feel like they are the bad ass character they are playing in game, but allot of the time they are just eye candy. You use the supper ability to survive a bit longer in a fight then thats it. This tactic tweeker makes me feel like my little guardian budy is doing more than just tossing me power boosts here and there.

Math G. Half correct. Xenoblade chronicles 2 takes time to get used to, it has a terrible tutorial and complex battle mechanics, but it becomes stupid easy once you understand "Driver combos" which is the meat of most of the battles you'll be in. It's a great game, with great mechanics but it has a terrible ending, and terrible villains. Give it another shot, you might like it better if you understand the combo system better.
@morghul20436 жыл бұрын
oh the combat i 110% understand and love it once you get the hang even the launch/smash and break the orbs thingys but it gets quite tedious and repetitive. what i feel is complex is the overall layout of the world with very different heights and the very sluggish menus , the affinity charts that you must level up by spamming pouch items , the pouch item itself i dont quite like either , the general terms used for everything too like the stats name and %%% are very confusing , the merc quests feels useless and more like work , the sidequests are meh , and the towns overcrowded with randoms shops and icons , idk , i havent played the other ones but i expected much better as i know Xeno 1 and Xeno X both are , xeno 2 is not polished at all and doesnt feel like a AAA on many levels not just graphically. but yeah the combat is basically the only thing i 110% understand and control , lol. and to add , the way to get the blades with that random loot boxish system , very wierd if not bad!! im about 6 hours in Ni No Kuni 2 and so far its pretty easy but i am simply amazed but everything and how polished and well thought it is. have like 50+ hours on xeno and i didnt enjoy much of it

Is it possible to change the character voices in the PS4 version of the game from English to Japanese? I ask that question because I absolutely hate the ultralocalised English dubs of Japanese-language mass media, such as animated films and video games, or of any non-English-language mass media, for that matter, because it puts us Anglophone people in a silo isolated from the world. Before people think I am a weeaboo, I would like to confirm them that I also absolutely hate the Japanese dubs of non-Japanese-language mass media, for the same reason I hate English dubs of non-English-language mass media, that they are both being ultralocalised to the point of putting audiences of these respective languages in their own respective silos isolated from the world. This is something I would really like to know before purchasing the game, because the walkthroughs of the game on KZbin never showed the Options menu, and it is so difficult to find a video that does show the Options menu. A bit more info there may be helpful. Thank you.

CGDavis Feels more like Kingdom Hearts than Tales. Tales has a more skill oriented combat. This game has a lot of skills, but I actually don't use them very often, unless against a boss or high HP mob. Using magic makes my character more open to being hit, and usually a couple quick light attacks+ a heavy or two will kill most any normal mob without taking any damage. Although you sometimes do need to dodge a couple times. I kind of prefer it than spamming something like Sonic thrust over and over. That said I'm only in the 3rd chapter and who knows how crazy it'll get, but as of now I'm level 14 and nothing has been impossibly difficult.
