Thank you. It was like advice from a friend. I've been stressing about my son's behavior and been so strict with him... and I was thinking about that yesterday and tears came to my eyes. He's such a lovely kid. I have to chill out, I'm always correcting him... I have to allow him to be a kid and do some silly things, he's just 4... And the problem is within myself, I've to regulate myself and work on my own deep problems. Thank you again, it helped a lot.

I'm glad you felt like we were two friends sitting down together.. that's always my hope. But gosh I so resonate with this. It's so easy to get caught up on "teaching" them right from wrong that we forget they are really such fun little humans. Thanks for taking the time to share ❤️

My 2.5 year old’s eating! She is go go go and often disinterested in or very picky about food-but then will want a pouch (which is all organic fruit/veggies). She’s healthy, she’s active, she’s fed. But I judge myself for what she is or isn’t eating. It struck me while listening that eating has historically been a hang up for me (disordered eating history) so it makes sense I’m hyper focused on her eating habits. I really want to cultivate her intuitive eating habits, and that probably starts with me loosening up and modeling my own intuitive eating for her.

You hit the nail on the head with that last sentence. My oldest was incredibly... particular... hahah and literally a week later she started trying and enjoying every food under the sun!! Let me know how this goes for you ❤️

I can relate to a lot of your points in this video. Especially with your point #1. I feel like there is a lot of pressure on kids to meet certain milestones & it gives me so much anxiety as a parent.

Absolutely!! Milestones are helpful as markers for potential red flags.. but I think most mamas today stress over them a little too much. Thank for commenting.. I hope you conjure to enjoy my channel!!

Thanks for mentioning the sleep issues. My little guy never sleeps through the night....like literally never. I have been so angry about it and it has caused a lot of stress and fights with my fiance. It has been so hard because I'm always tired.

The mix of being tired and feeling like they should be sleeping through the night is such a hard combo. I'm glad this video brought you some comfort!!! ❤️

I don’t know how much you did or didn’t look into Waldorf, but it is very connection oriented and the scholastic stuff isn’t even introduced to children till age of 7. The importance of childhood is very much spending time with your children in the home and outside in nature. Baking together, cleaning together, fostering imagination, etc. Just wanted to throw that out there because I didn’t know this either until we started practicing these things in our home. We found a couple that creates Waldorf curriculum for early childhood and they are Christians. Not trying to sell anyone on this, but just wanted to put this out there so other mamas don’t just clump it with other things and snub it. Loving your videos! ☺️

Thank you for this!! Yes, I did look into it and found it so beautiful. I appreciate this perspective… and hopefully I didn’t make it sound like it’s a “bad” thing in the video.. rather it just wasn’t for my first kiddo. Haha Thank you so much ❤️

Subbed when you said Waldrof haha. 😂 This seems like my kind of channel--knowing about these parenting topics, but also not obsessing about them!

This is something I’ve struggled with because mine was a lil over 3months early. So as a micro preemie and with two holes in her heart, drs and pt and I have really worried about milestones. So much guilt had ran thru me between a sucky life filled with lots of drama, then traumatic pregnancy and birth it’s been rough not feeling competent enough and never being diagnosed with anything other than adhd in 5th grade. Ended up being alcoholic for 6 years to just get thru life but now that I’m over 10 months sober there’s so much more regret and last couple days have been hard because my meds are off since forgetting to schedule alarms so I don’t forget meds. Soooo I SERIOUSLY NEEDED to hear this. AND a video I watched other day that said “mothers should stop regretting because moms and children really get their dopamine from cuddling and spending time together feeling love and comfort. While dads are for playing and rough housing and both child and father get dopamine from playing”. As someone of child being wrong by someone most trusted I’ve obsessed over being a helicopter parent making sure nothing like that happens to her. But I really appreciate this video and will rewatch and take notes to post on wall as a reminder to just let go of the reigns some. Since finding out I might have been misdiagnosed either way adhd as a kid and seeing all the signs she may have been too it’s just been one hell of a road and I’ve obsessed over everything since her birth . Never realizing that the birth was just another traumatic experience to ad to my list until her dad made me think about it 😅. I wish more people would do what your doing and “tear down the fantasy ideas ppl have displayed all over TT and other social platforms so us struggling with mental health issues could stop obsessing over what we are or aren’t doing right.

Gosh I’m so relating to you with having a medically complex baby. My first was a preemie and second has a rare heart defect. I’m glad this video encouraged you. Wow…. How far you’ve come. Thank you for taking the time to share. I hope my content continues to encourage you ❤️

Everything you said help me. Especially the sleep part, as I am lie in bed and my daughter was nursing from 4-7 am not really sleeping and now is sleeping and I am awake now. I was so stressed because I was always looking on the clock 😁

I think it should have been included that, baking a cake can be a math lesson, sometimes..it was kinda said like every baking session with your child is a math lesson. (Im sure this wasn’t intentional) going for a walk can be learning/teaching…sometimes, but not every walk. I do both of these plus more with my 3 1/2 year old, but it’s not every walk in our woods we take, or cooking that we do together…i do homeschool (low key) with her and so i use some of our everyday things as a “follow up” with what we did that day, but its not constant. It’s not like all day long. If we read 3 book in the evening, i may take one book and have her go over a couple sounds and words she’s learning in school..but its not every “in” word that i make her say. Just grab a few and in that one book. Wanted to clear this up for others because I felt a little weird with that one. It was just said like it’s done with every activity or every time you do something and for people who cant read between the lines, it needs to be cleared up.
