2025 Part B is $185! Without prior notice, SSD basically took ALL my first monthly payment as premiums on Medicare that I had no clue I even had. My first SSD payment is supposed to be the second Wednesday in February and I'm looking forward to the whole $336!! What a kick in the gut.

Same!!! Also did you get back pay? I’m still waiting to hear. I haven’t even gotten an official approval or award letter and people are already coming for my money!!!! Even child support, which I don’t even owe. 😡

I first received an email of approval and reward then about 2 weeks later I received the actual mail Approval of reward but was totally different amount for the first month's payment. I've gotten NO word on any back pay even though they deemed me disabled back to 2020. Almost 5 years ago.

I thought I had heard that you get back pay from the date of the application for SSDI and you also get something from the date of injury or when you stopped working. Any truth to that? I just found out I was approved by looking on line. I think the offset from workers comp is going to greatly affect any back payment as well.

The date I was determined disabled is February 12. 2021. The date they say I will get my first disability check is for August and will be paid on September 15, 2021. They way I understand it, I thought my first check would be paid august 15. Am I correct. I called and the rep told me they go back 5 months not 6. I told them no it was 6 mos. she said it must have changed from what I last read. 😡

I am 100% certain there is a five month illumination. Or wait. Before your benefits start from the date that you were disabled I caution all about information received from Social Security agents they mean well but unless there is an actual written statement that supports it and it’s just a verbal opinion it’s not always accurate If you’d like to test my theory call the Social Security number and ask how much you can make when you’re approved for disability benefits and if you do this five times I expect to get three different answers

I am on SSI right now. I may of won my survivors benefit case but it was only last week I spoke to the judge in a phone hearing. There was no lawyer. If I do happen to get it my question is about back pay. Would they pay me the a year ago or so that I filed or will they take the SSI amount out of the ssdi for survivors back pay?....Carolyn

I was approved in August of 2022 I never got an award letter but I did go to the website social security website and it said I was approved and it told me that I would receive my benefits starting September 14th of 2022 that's all I got notice no notice no nothing other than me personally going to the website and checking I was approved August 17th 2022 with benefits set to start September 14th of 22 no Taco back pay or anything like that was on the website

Hello. I was awarded approved for ssdi by phone judge Aug 2021. Finally yesterday I got my benefit letter. My onsite date agreed upon by the judge and attorneys was Aug 2015. The award letter I got yesterday states March 2019. So I am losing 3.5 years of back pay? Can I fight this with my attorneys help? Is this an error or what is going on? I was awarded benefits 3/8/22 with back paid benefits beginning 6/2021. I don't know if this means anything. Also called social security office and they sent me a BPQY letter with Medical review for 3/2029 7+ yrs. Does this sound correct.

Also, I stay in treatment because of several medications I need to take. Staying in treatment is difficult because of the expense. I am just terrified of being denied on a CDR because I know I will not be able to work. I tried to work parttime and after 5 years it was a disaster. My treating physician says my Meld score is getting closer to getting myself on the transplant list. My condition is further complicated by out-of-control diabetes and my condition has been recorded as decompensated. Every day I worry about being in the control of others who could make things catastrophic for me. I will be Medicare eligible June/ July 2023. I was awarded benefits in March of 2022 based on (what I guess) medical reports. (Did not have a hearing)

Another way to look at it is that there is a five month elimination period or wait. Were no benefits or accrued and no benefits are paid so starting the six month after you were found disabled is the Matthew would be paid for. Hope this helps

I was awarded ssdi in April after waiting a year. A few months later I received what I assume to be my back pay- it equaled 12 mo minus 5 months so 7 months worth. It’s been 8 months and I don’t have my retroactive pay. I’m no longer required to pay child support, my arrears are paid, no student loans. Nobody at SS is able to figure it out. My lawyer won’t help, said her job is done. Why are they holding my money hostage? Help please
