This is looking more promising to me than it did from the stuff shown up until now. I love the improvised weapons all over the place & hope there really is a broad variety of those with varying effectiveness for damage, stunning, distractions, etc. Pity about the puzzles but that's not surprising these days; everything seems to have been done before.

The combination of the use of the whip and fisticuffs really feels like a blend of what many of the developers at MachineGames accomplished with the Chronicles Of Riddick games and The Darkness while they were at Starbreeze. And yeah, I love how you can grab so many objects in the environment to improvise with. Getting pretty excited about this.

Thanks for the early review! I like the physical aspect of the maps in the game, which reminded me of Far Cry 2. The game looks really nice and detailed. One thing I couldn't not notice is the stuttering when panning the camera. Anyone else? I'll be playing it on Series X and hope this won't be an issue as it really ruins it for me (I wish it didn't).

Yes, we need a VR mode one way or another. The first person view is screaming VR. It'll be wonderful if there was an official VR mode, but otherwise, I'd definitely play this with a VR mod.

Yeah I clocked it more as Troy too. It's sad though because it isn't really his fault. Rewatched the first three movies this week and the way Indy speaks is perfectly copied. It's really just the sound? tenor? of the voice itself and that is almost impossible to recreate.

Hopefully they have a FoV slider to make it more comfortable. The narrow default on consoles is the main problem I think; makes it feel very claustrophobic.

Love the idea of real maps you hold in front of you. I hope they go the extra mile of having Indy scribble notes on them (kinda like in the Silent Hill series) and instead of a marker showing your position, Indy marks something in pencil showing where you are and what way you're heading each time

It's fine with a wider FoV but for some reason console games insist on narrowing it down to almost nothing. That made sense when widescreen TVs weren't standard, but that's not the case anymore. I find it really strange.

Machine Games has only ever really made 1st person games. There's no reason to expect them to change that for this game. I get that a lot of people don't like it, though I personally don't really understand why outside of some people who get motion sick. Heres hoping there's a 3rd person mod for you guys tho!

Experienced & talented devs & designers demand more pay, so publishers push them out so they can get newbies in on the cheap, who will take any abuse thrown at them. If something contractual prevents that or makes it difficult, they just shut down the studio itself.

This is going to be dreadful, nothing more than a modern point and click exploration game in the first person, virtually no shooting, no blood and minimal amount of violence, extremely poor AI, beyond easy puzzle solving, less than 10 hours gameplay with over 3 hours of cinematic’s, this will be worse than Star Wars Outlaws, it’s not a first person shooter, and it’s not an action adventure game like uncharted, there will be hundreds of thousands of people looking for a refund when this gets released. This will be one of the biggest disappointments of 2024.
