I am going to work in the Emergency Room Department and the hospital is owned and operated by Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis and the hospital is named St. Francis of Assisi. This was recommended to me the week before I start working there. God is amazing! St. Francis, pray for us.

St Francis is actually my conformation saint, originally I chose him because he was the patron saint of animals, and me wanting to become a vet i thought he could help. but once I started looking into his life and discovering all the amazing this he did, the things you guys spoke of, and more, i ended up choosing him for the person he was. He is such an inspiring saint and person. thanks for doing this episode, i loved it :)

Some times we can feel our faith is not being tapped enough so this is a great source of abundant light in the Christian Catholic Faith. Thank you for talking about St. Francis of Assisi. I am an OFS (Secular Franciscan). I professed in June 2017. Another story about Francis is when he was going to send his brothers out (like Jesus and the Apostles) Francis went to the Gospels where Jesus sent out the Apostles out in pairs taking nothing but 1 tunic, etc. But Francis being Francis when his Brothers ask him where they should go, Francis said to spin around until they fall down and whichever way they head pointed was the way they were to go. There are many legends and stories about Francis. I am proud to be a Secular. You should follow up with all those Saints, Popes, etc. who were Third Order Franciscans. Also a show about St. Clare of Assisi and her amazing story of the Eucharist.

Our local Priest has Brother who came back to the UK before lockdown he is in the Franciscans of the Renewal. He would have been in the Bronx around 2000 or 2001in the order. He's great and was able to help his brother Priest with online Mass and Take Mass over our first lockdown period when our Priest had to Close up the Church.

St Francis was also my confirmation saint and I'm trying to be more devoted to him. I have also heard a fun fact about him since you where talking about his holiness, I read a book about a personal revelation that an angel came to a lady and told her that St. Francis took lucifers place in the choir of angels.

Great show. I have seen a few movies about St. Francis' life. With all of the garbage produced by Hollywood, I can't help but imagine what a terrific movie could be made today that captures his story with the same level of passion your description provides. Giving up his birthright, being held as a prisoner, trying to convert the Sultan...so many compelling chapters to the story of his exemplary life.

St. Francis is one of my favorite saints. Because he's the patron saint of ecology, I always ask for his help and St. Anthony of Padua's help to make my garden productive and pollinators' friendly. Both of them loved God's other creatures/creation like the animals, the birds, the fish they preached to.

This was a great episode. I learned St. Francis name came from France but you water down this saint which is my favorite saint. By the way you should do a show on Saint Dominick who was from France and founded the rosary to my knowledge Verbatim And chronologically. You left out Saint Francis of Assisi is the closet relationship to Muslims. In the last Crusaders he went to the Sultan and made PEACE!! You mentioned that but you left out the famous painting. Also you are right St. Francis and St. Dominick should be the most Influential saints of generation. He is like our Muslim Saint!! Lol not pride love father is right . San Damiano is not the same as the Portiuncula (Little Portion) at Santa Maria degli Angeli. The Damiano cross was in San Damiano Church which is located downhill from the protomonasterio Sta. Chiara where the Poor Clares now live. The San Damiano cross is now with the Poor Clares in their monastery church. There is a replica at San Damiano. You can visit the dormitory that St. Clare and her sisters lived in. Just want the facts of the cross to be correct.
