One of the best parts of the whole movie is the ending when their grampa comes in and we find out, via a totally casual off hand remark, that he's well aware of the vampires in the town. So funny. :)

i love it and him for being so crazy as to actually bring his family there haha, that is like... oh kids, we are going to hang out near that creepy town with the endless hordes of vampires and were wolves... just wear your garlic and keep the silver knives near you... and you know what... i could swear vampires have alot of silver sharp things.. i want to actually have that become a story haha about vampires carrying silver weapons to keep the were wolves reasonable, oh well that would be amazing... perhaps something involving some vampire kids that have to live in a town of were wolves because the were wolves agreed to parent them because they plan on actually teaching them morals as they see things and the vampires parents are busy somewhere else with serious issues going on and the grandparents were busy with even more dire issues that were dangerous for others so they never even explained to thier kids that the town was a vampire town and just gave them some knives that happened to be silver incase they got in a fight ahah

Fun fact, in the scene where he meets the Frog brothers, he was on a mad comedown from trying cocaine for the first time the night before. I highly recommend reading Corey Feldman's autobiography, 'Coreyography', it's a fantastic read, funny at times and dark at others, but it's a good, honest insight into The Two Corey's early lives and careers, and you'll never see their movies the same way again. I understand it could spoil it for some, but I like an honest view of the world and people around me. Happy New Year, and sorry for the necro-comment! 🍻

Wolfs Bane The 1992 version of "Dracula" is commonly referred to as "Bram Stoker's" FYI. Almost everyone will know what you mean if you say that. I found it tedious to explain which version I meant until I noticed that. Hope it helps. BTW Did you get your name from the comic character Wolfsbane from the Marvel series "The New Mutants"? Cool name regardless.
@Wolfbane3827 жыл бұрын
Er, Sorry about that. ^^; And no I didn't. My sn is from the poem in the 1941 Wolfman movie. Long story short I was looking for a sn to join a werewolf rpg group. When my mind came back to poem in the movie. "Even a man who's pure at heart and says his prays by night, may become a wolf when the Wolf bane blooms and the Autumn moon is bright." The 382 is a nod to Blink 182. ^^ Also thank you as well. ^_^
@negativeindustrial7 жыл бұрын
Wolfs Bane Oh, well check out the early 1980's version of the character Wolfsbane from the early original run of "The New Mutants" if you're into werewolves then I think you'll find her origin and character development, as told by one comic's greatest writers Chris Claremont, particularly fascinating. It truly is good fiction. Enjoy :) Oh! And I didn't mean my original post as anything other than helpful suggestion. I apologize if it came off any other way. Text is terrible about such things

Bonus fact: The song "cry little sister", is originally a Southern States song about trying to be romantic with your sibling. This weighs the movie down quite a lot, But fortunately you can easily remember that the song artist and the movie script artist aren't the same people so their intentions are different. It's just so hard to enjoy the movie and then get pulled out into uncanny Valley by hearing that song and being reminded that people are actually romantically involved with their genetic relatives

Two quick fun things: 1. In my Lit and Film class Senior year, we watched Stand By Me, and I completely scared my teacher when she overheard me telling one of my friends about how Kiefer Sutherland was a vampire named David in the Lost Boys. And, in regards to her reaction, my classmates were confused that I recognized the actor as being a vampire in another movie. 2. My dad has a friend that looks like Sutherland, so after this movie came out, he decided to do his hair and his clothing style to look like David. It is a combination of scary and awesome! Thanks for reading :)

So, I don't know what the _REAL_ reason was for their eye issues, but I can tell you that I started wearing soft contact lenses- real soft lenses, like they have now, in 1980. Colored soft lenses became available on the general market around 1985.
@talacocheta90017 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this came out in 1987 and I had been wearing soft lenses for years. I once had purple, which made me look like an alien in bright sunlight because you could see my blue eyes behind them. Recent milestones in the history of contact lenses in the United States include: 1971 The first commercially available soft contact lens is introduced in the United States by Bausch & Lomb. 1978 The first toric soft contact lens is introduced in the U.S. for the correction of astigmatism. 1979 The first rigid gas permeable (RGP) hard contact lens is introduced. 1981 Extended wear soft contact lenses are introduced. 1982 Bifocal daily wear soft contact lenses became available for commercial distribution. 1983 The first tinted RGP lens became available for commercial distribution. 1986 An extended wear RGP lens became available for commercial distribution. 1987 Disposable soft contact lenses became available for commercial distribution; a soft contact lens to change eye color became available for commercial distribution; first multipurpose lens care product made available for commercial distribution.
@DiscreetlyBawwing7 жыл бұрын
Laura Minnick The real reason was the contacts. The things were handpainted with Kryolan paints and were an utter mess. Soft contacts may have been available, but wasn't used for the movie. I don't think creating custom soft lenses was that easy and probably not as cheap as now. Even today custom, handpainted ones are expensive as heck, so I'd imagine it was even worse when they had to design up these ones.

I had friends that were freaked out by this movie but I love it. Cory Feldman shaved his head well he could have played the younger version of Jason Vorhees. and when Cory was freaking out when Jason had him was not acting. I think Lost Boys are not done with taking others with them.

Maybe not a great movie but can we agree that the lost boys the thirst had the most ingenious vampire death ever? When frog drenched that vamp in water and then blessed it, turning it into holy water, that was epic.

number 8 things you didn't know my husband got cast for one of the punks on the beach, Michael Witnesses First Feed Attack in The Lost Boys, but he never made it to the shoot. He said every punk-looking extra was actual punks from around Santa Cruz him being one of them. They had a low budget so the best way to get it looking authentic was to hire the locals.
