i mean, he never actually cared about Grisha. he just wanted more power because he felt he had a right to it because he was a man with power to begin with. he openly and unapologetically murders like half the Little Palace just cause they didn't want to become imperialists like him then kills off more Grisha until there's not that many left. no one made him do anything, he chose the life he did and saying otherwise is a huge disservice to him as a character who is proud of the things he did. he chose to harm and mutilate people. like... he literally says that he doesn't feel bad for anything he did - which includes sexually assaulting Alina and having Genya get r*ped for like 10 years. it's not a girl's job to fix a sh*tty man.

I'm curious about how all of this could turn out. The Darkling in Netflix is more human than the one on the books, more open (he said his name to Alina way earlier), and slightly more reasonable. With that, and the fact that they could put the Six of Crows' drug deal in the plot, there are chances that we could see new things. Like, Kirigan calling a truce with Alina to manage the jurda parem problem.
