7 Times Violence Wasn't The Answer: Commenter Edition

Violence never truly solves anything, except in videogames, where it solves everything. Except! For the handful of special occasions that call for non-violent lateral thinking. Hot on the heels of our last video in this topic, here are your suggestions for sneaky ways to resolve a conflict. Subscribe for a video like this one every Thursday!
Take the Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion, for example, in which one quest has you track a gruesome creature known as a spotted wight to its lair, where it has been tormenting locals and also, apparently, hoarding spoons?
You can either leap from the shadows and attack the wight in their own home which, rude, OR choose to sit down and enjoy a meal with them like a civilised Witcher.
Avoid using spoons as you eat, and you lift the curse on your dinner companion, who is magicked back into human form with nary a bloody and impolite swordfight over the dining table. If only all Witching was this easy, eh Geralt?

@@insaincaldo Yup. Also if it's hurting. And if it's alone or in a pack. Basically the odds of you getting mauled vs you getting a new best friend are largely dependent on a bunch of circumstances and behaviors that tie in with animal instinct. A lot of people fuck up the real-life QTE and present themselves as either competition or a threat, which prompts the wolf to respond appropriately, which leads to mauling. Approaching the wolf slowly, with a lowered stance and a closed mouth, while presenting food is a good start. Making sure the wolf already has a pack (Lone wolves are almost always either diseased or desperate, which increases the odds of random attack) and is uninjured (since pain makes animals default to nervous suspicion at best) both go a long way, as well.

Actually I think Until Dawn does a good job of showing you not to hurt animals. The wolf, the deer herd that corners Matt and Emily, the squirrel Chris can shoot...I can't remember if there are more, but I think pretty much all the hurt the animals options end badly for the characters.

For your Part 3: In Neverwinter Nights -- Hordes of the Underdark, the last mission where you confront the final boss Mephistopheles, you have an option to use his true name to avoid fighting him altogether. I think this was intended as the best 'good' ending.

Thief had some seriously creepy missions. The forbidden quarter and shellbridges assylum.... Man, I checked every spot of the map again before I opened that creepy door. Also, the Witcher franchise had some seriously creepy missions, or rather characters, you don't wanna mess with. Witches and above all Gaunther O Dhimm creeped me out.

Witcher 3 and all its DLCs have so many quests that can be resolved by nonviolent approach. The very beginning and one of the most prominents is the Bloody Baron's Botchling quest.

I mean, if you're talking about the first one, there are MANY times where shooting the cops or at least beating them unconscious is very helpful for not getting bullets in you. Plus there are some unavoidable fights. There's a reason Test of Faith is an achievement.
