Thanks for the super helpful tips and representing Toronto so well. :) +1000 for foam rolling quads to help with knee pain relief! Personally I find it a lot easier and less stressful on my knees (and back) to use a WIDER (and nub free) foam roller, so I am rolling BOTH quads at once. Then there's no need to balance/roll awkwardly on one leg while putting the supporting leg into that awkward frog legged position (which hurts my supporting knee). With wider roller and core activated, I'm doing a gentle rolling plank motion that does not aggravate either knee and releases both quads simultaneously = win! Also, I find the nubs on the roller can be pretty intense, esp for really tight muscles and trigger points, so I find using a plain (or less knobby) roller much more tolerable.

Often, it's the simple tips that confer the best results. Perhaps with the exception of foam rolling, almost everyone who has knee pain can, effectively, incorporate these tips into their rehab plan and get results. It doesn't matter if they're 8 or 80, an athlete or a couch potato.

Great tips thx! I’ve been rehabbing my knee for the last month w a routine of stretching, a little yoga and some strengthening. If I feel any pain during certain stretches or exercises, should I avoid those until I can do them pain free? Thx again!
@PrecisionMovementCoach4 ай бұрын
Hey! You can cut out the stretching completely. There is virtually no physiological or kinetic need for you to do it ever again. However, we definitely recommend that you stop any exercise or activity if you cannot do it pain-free. Modifications include moving slower and smaller. Question: If injury free (and want to keep it that way), what is the best way to actively stretch post exercise (upper body especially)? Your posture/upper back/shoulder pain exercises have really helped me but when I don't have pain and I've finished exercising - what should I do to prevent injury day to day post exercise? Thank you!
@PrecisionMovementCoach4 ай бұрын
Hmm, it does depend on the exercise, type, volume and intensity. HOWEVER, what you can do is the same exercises that fixed you, because those proved themselves already to fill in some gap. So do those. But you don't have to do them post-exercise, do them separately. And to find even more good stuff for your body, do the Daily Movement Tuneup in my ROM Coach app - download it from any app store.

Thank you very much indeed, Coach Joshua, for being with us. Your coaching is preciously appreciated. Would you be pleased to advise if climbing up/going down stairs is OK during recovering ? 🫡

You are so welcome and thanks for the shout-out! Check this out next: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqScknRon5WbZq8si=ATdclD6T0VnI04ol Typically going up and down one stair at a time is a good way to deload a painful knee. Try leading with your painful knee on the way down and leading with the non-painful knee on the way up. Try that out and let us know how it goes :) - Coach Joshua, Team PM

Sir, I normally have no problem in my knees but, after a running session, feel dullness and slight swelling in my right knee. Will alternate hot and cold packs , mentioned in this video, help in this case?
@PrecisionMovementCoach4 ай бұрын
The contrast will help the symptoms and recovery process. But you have to realize that there is in fact a problem with your knee, because a good knee would not swell after exercise. Thus, you must get to the root causes. The tips here will help during the recovery process, the Knee Pain Solution program will get to the root causes - www.precisionmovement.coach/knee-pain-solution/

My daughter is 14 years old, has had to stop athletics due to pain in her knees. She has been to physios, doctors but nothing seems to help. She is very frustrated. She is hypermobile and is tall. Clamshell excercises hurt her, seems to be that motion. Her legs are very tight also. Please is there any strength excercises to help her run pain free??

Is it possible for you to put together a 30 min video of the best movements for the entire body? Going from video to video to see the exercises is time consuming. No scientific explanations, just a quiet video with some soft music for 30 min . Most of us already watched the your other videos, but something you think are the best movements to help the entire body.
