I recently got accepted into a digital arts university, and have been super excited about it. I too have always had a passion for art/design and helping others since I was a child but I'm only now realizing I should pursue it as a career after a decade of retail/customer service and IT. Sadly, however, loan repayment costs are beyond my financial ability(didn't qualify for aid either), so self-taught may be what I have to continue to do. But I've learned so much in the last 7 months and am still thoroughly loving it far more than I thought I would. I'm currently brainstorming portfolio ideas now and your channel has been immensely invaluable throughout these months in my journey. Just wanted to say thanks for the hope and all that you do!

I just managed to get that typography book from Kunz at a reasonable price imported to the U.S. from Germany. I also ordered his companion book Typography: Formation and Transformation. Looking forward to reading them.

I have no idea about Affinity, but sure it looks good, as long as you can create design work, any software should be good, I recommend the professional ones, industry standard.

@@kewa_design I want to learn graphic design and I want to go to collage but I need a portfolio so as I have from now on about 1 year for that I want to self-taught me so much that I can create a portfolio to get accepted at collage. Now Adobe is rly expensive as im not a student currently. I think of getting the Affinity Apps. Should I get all of them now? I want to start with simple designs and UI design and maybe designing a website (ik for websites Figma is perfect) but for all the other things, do I need Affinity Photo and Publisher? Would be cool if you can help me out. I really think affinity is perfect due to its price. If I get all apps on my Mac and iPad it will still be cheaper than the adobe cloud...
