I get the idea behind what you say, however this concept cannot apply to all people because of the Hierarchical nature of our economic system, there absolutely must be a lower economic class to do the physical labor necessary in order to operate and expand one’s business. For example a hypothetical, if all adults in the US became entrepreneurs tomorrow and also refused to work under someone else for a wage I don’t think you would be able to grow a business beyond just yourself. If anyone else wishes to expand upon this hypothetical give your own opinion on the matter feel free to do so. I think it’s interesting to discuss this idea.

The companies that don't adapt to remote are in for a huge struggle. And I love it. The issue most people don't get is this: inflation doesn't make the rich richer exactly, it makes the poor poorer which makes the rich look richer. If you own an asset that grows at 5% with inflation also at 5% you are no richer now than you were a year ago. However your neighbor who only owns liabilities effectively lost 5% assuming their wages stayed the same. Now you might say but the neighbor's wages surely went up, and that is true but not as quickly as inflation did unless they're job is directly tied to the market (furniture maker and wholesaler vs assembly line worker, one sells their labor directly to the market, the other sells their labor to someone who resells it to someone who buys it typically). Inflation isn't going to make you rich by itself, however as pointed out you can plan for it so it doesn't decrease your value. You still need to make sound investments to grow at a rate higher than inflation. On a related note deflation is what helps the wage worker because assets depreciate faster than do wages (it is tough to get someone to take a wage decrease).

Slightly incorrect on the supply side of the chip shortage; while manufacturers did order lower numbers of chips in anticipation of lower product demand, the real stopping block on production is that the chip fabs require sometimes up to 6-8 months+ to change the production line over to a different chip configuration. So, they were still churning out chips, they were just easier to produce/sell chips (which we saw later reflected in the manufacterer use of these abundant chips).

@chrisdaniels39292 жыл бұрын
Your question is about how to measure money supply. M0 is very liquid money and on a scale to M6 that is illiquid. It is circulating money. But note e.g. illiquid money like equity in real estate can be spent. For example if people take out loans. Those loans are an increase in money supply by creating money in easy access bank accounts, which didn't exist before the loan was made.
