Very useful tips. I would also recommend blowing on your camera lenses first before wiping them with a cloth, to prevent micro scratches if any dust is present.

My man, thanks for reminding us of the pocket wonder we carry every day. I just checked my phone gallery and it's full with dull stuff, taking picture of groceries that i liked so i can get them the same next time and whatnot. I absolutely love my Sony camera but definitely forgot that I have a very good camera in my pocket as well. Thanks for the content, love it.

@@thaticelandicguy I am on the verge of ordering one. Making the switch from my iPhone 12pro max. I tried the 1iii but it was too dim and the selfie camera sucked for my usecase. Thus I hoped for the 1iv. but this heat issue is a bit unnerving. Seeing someone experience the phone and make great photography is really selling it to me again. Hard choice

Viewed this on my Sony xperia 1 iii Even for us manual users, your GO TO mode is Program Auto no matter what photographer you are. Tricker darker and faster shots will be in manual and Shutter priority.

Thanks for the tips! And how is one supposed to take macro shots with the Xperia 1 IV. Looks like it isn't possible on this device? Another thing is, how do you make the ringing sound stereo because you know that device has got a really good sound, but when someone gives you a call it gives you a 'great' MONO experience. Kind of stupid for the price one pays for it. Thanks.

Have you had any issues with the overheating of your phone? I heard even with the current update it overheats unless you put it on 60 Hertz. It's been a good 7 years since my last Sony phone and I'm considering this one.

1 thing i think Xperia users could get especialy Xperia 1 IV users is ND filter.. ND filter would help to take some great long exposure shots (stills) or create cinematic motion effect of video with 180 degree rules..

If you saw one of the videos I made with this then I taped an old ND filter for a GoPro on my Xperia 1iv and it worked great to get that 180dwgree rule

@@thaticelandicguy Amazon has a few cheap 37mm clip on ND filters for phones. The quality control isn't great and I recommend getting a set of better quality 37mm ND filters to use with the clip, but the clip works well.

I had Xperia 1 II but the pictures were always so bad. I think I must buy this phone and takes some lessons with my working friend who is a good photographer with pro cameras. I can get it now for 1199€ plus WH-1000XM4 headphones for free of charge. Good bargain I think.

On the other hand, I did look at reviews and I came to the conclusion that I did buy a Xiaomi 12 PRO (originally a 1099€ phone I got for 799€ and I have 12 or 13 pairs of Parrot ZIK 1.0 headphones which sound I love so much. Other headphones like Sony are weird plastic sound and lack of good bass.) I have many Xiaomi products from BT water cookers, and power banks to dashcams, and those are high quality even though it is a Chinese brand. But many other brands even from other countries but made in China have problems and lack quality control. DJI is another Chinese company I trust. I have had a Mavic Pro drone for 5 and a half years without any problems.

P is for program not professional mode. A for aperture priority and S for shutter priority. M for manual mode. Drives me crazy when people don't know what they stand for and just make them up. Otherwise good video. Edit: A is for automatic on this phone.

@@thaticelandicguy I have the same experience, I can record over 10 minutes straight in 4k 60fps or use 4k 120 and it won't overheat. I can use my camera on my Xperia 1iv all day without any issue. I really think the first batch had some faulty devices. I got mine three weeks ago and made about 10 full video productions and no issues at all.

Then people want to record 4K@60 and 120 with 5G, 120Hz turned on, maximimum brightness while using stuu like eye AF/tracking that increase processing ( consequently raises cpu activity) , but feel surprised phone gets hot .. I remember ppl using ice to handle canon r5 back then. Even pro gear gets hot.

My rules that I learnt in 2 years: 1. Clean your lens 2. Just visualize how things would look after editing while you are outside on the streets - turn your imagination 3. Think twice before you share the picture - there might be a risk you’ll miss some little objects on the photos 4. Set a right crop - “sometimes you need to focus on the door in the middle, not house” 5. Cover your smartphone with us e aplastic bag and go taking picture outside while it’s raining 6. Listen the music in the morning that makes you are good mood to start the day in better way 7. Camera you already have in your hand is a right camera 8. If it’s possible go to bike or rollerblades with a camera in your backpack - you moving faster 9. Don’t edit photos everyday - don’t lose your attraction and get rid of routine 10. Meditation gives you free mind to live 11. Make a KZbin channel with other social media stuff 12. Be active in conversation with people with the same passions 13. Take portraits of people for money or even for free 14. Stop the relationship with toxic people and find ones who will support you in bad and good moments in your life 15. Buy cheap camera, get a skill and go for another level after some years 16. Cheap body + expensive lens is the best deal 17. Put your headphones, listen the music and dive to your passion 18. Watch POV’s on KZbin with “before and after” effect and think how to edit them that way 19. Find the most attractive places in your city you don’t know - Google 20. Respect the private of people who walk in the streets 21. Don’t bring up dehaze or clarity so much 22. Find the girl of your life and have sex with a camera in your hand 😜 That’s my rule and the most important - train small talking with people to make you be more confident

I find it extremely disappointing that no youtuber has ever used the 85-125mm for portraits including you. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. That is where this camera should shine because in theory, there would be actual subject and background separation. But nope. No photographer has truly showcased the capabilities of those lenses. They only talk about zooming🤦‍♂️ including you!

Sorry that you feel that way. Unfortunately I'm not that much of a portrait photographer. You might have noticed though that I did use the zoom a lot for cityscape. I absolutely love zoom for landscape and city. However it's a great idea for a video. Will talk to some models and see if they are down for a portrait session with the Xperia! 😊
