I just hauled myself out of bed to skip the rest of this story halfway through because I was so upset by the language and lack of empathy towards the VICTIM. Why am I 100% certain OP is a male? He lost every possibility of my respect when he made such a point of "hearing both sides" when he clearly witnessed harrassment/attempted assault, had the victim confirm what he saw, and he STILL refused to believe the man could be in the wrong? Screw this guy (hopefully against his will, so he can know how it feels) Edit: Abandoned video during story 3. Yes I know killing some one you go to jail but what I don't get is why he never went to jail for beating her. Its not his responsibility to rescue an abused woman. The woman is an adult who chose her partner. @erikasundlie305 Typical modern woman who has to compare herself to an animal or a child. This proves that modern women have no sense of accountability like their tons and tons and tons Videos that proves it shows that most modern women are unable to take responsibility for their action. And they just want to blame men. And this is why most men are going their own way. Or marrying women from a different country. Because no matter what you do and don't do. Men will always get blamed in this particular society in the Western society. Western eyes, women will always blame men for everything. And that includes your own personal choice. Also, most men understand that animal and children are vulnerable and unlike women, animals Can not falsely accuse a man and getting locked up. So most men, most guys well defend. Animals and most skies will defend children. Because they're young and innocent. And a dog female it's not at least not in the west. Lot of amber heards who make stuff up and accuse men of crimes they never committed. Your comment proves that you are exactly like Amber heard with your baseless accusations.

I feel like whoever wrote story two misunderstood the situation but somewhat handled it properly. First he was good to go to corporate but he should never have spoken to the manager. Second I don’t think anyone was mad at him for calling the manager out. If he hadn’t had talked to the manager after he already found out it wasn’t consensual, the girl wouldn’t have been fired and the manager would still have gotten repercussions.
@CaKoMi

Agreed, but sadly, I’m sure that a big chunk of staff weren’t mad on behalf of the girl getting fired. I’ve been in situations like this in restaurants and have seen harassment be dismissed by so many people because “it’s not bad enough to get him fired.” And the other skeptical part of me wonders if corporate would have done anything if the manager hadn’t fired the girl he assaulted, since firing her opens the restaurant up to more legal repercussions. I hope they let him go bc it was the right thing to do, but the fact that the girl wasn’t offered her job back tells me otherwise.

For those who don’t understand the hate OP gets in story 2 for the confrontation, the issue is that he made the decision to confront him for the victim, leaving the victim to deal with the consequences, which is why she didn’t want to confront him in the first place.

Yeah. When I was getting sexually harassed at a school that I lived at for a year and I didn't want to tell anyone that it was happening because 1. I had no evidence 2. I'm a girl and she was also a girl and I had doubts that anyone would believe me 3. If I wasn't believed then it would have made my life hell because I still had to live with the girl who was harassing me 4. We were friends and I had conflicting feelings about wanting to get her in trouble. So I felt like it was in my best interest to just get out of there and cut all contact with her. And I'm doing good now so I think that was my best option.

The guy in story 3 is victimizing himself more than the poor homeless guy who he failed to help. He's right, he is a coward. Sorry 4: how on earth did he not realize that Mark was an addict? That was my first thought when he mentioned him disappearing to the bathroom. I'm not an "experienced" person and I figured that out.

Yeah I totally agree with both things you said. I rolled my eyes so much during the 4th story. I mean how naive do you have to be?! I also think it’s crazy that he just closed the door and went out to ring a customer up instead of immediately calling 911 or doing something!

Not only that but story 4 guy had such a lack of compassion and understanding for addicts. I’m not an addict nor did I grow up with them but I still educated myself. Addiction is really hard and instead of saying it’s sad he couldn’t get help before he OD’d you’re just like “he was so miserable and made everyone around him miserable I don’t miss him.” What a heartless fucking thing to say to someone who just died. Hope he haunts ur ass goddamn. Glad his love life is interesting tho

Being on the spectrum is no excuse for being allowed to get away with criminal acts. My creepy coworker story is the guy that was allowed to come to work with pants that were way to big, he wore no underwear, I know this because every time he bent over his pants would fall off and everyone saw everything, and he had nothing to be proud of. What's worse is this is a school, kids could see him to. Yes I complained, I was told "don't look at him" by upper management. The only reason he's gone is because his "girlfriend" left and he "followed" her.......

Told to me by a coworker. One of her coworkers came up to her and asked her what she dropped last night, on her way to her car. She then is like, hey I didn’t know you were working last night too (she got off at 11pm), to which he replies, and completely casually too “Oh I wasn’t. I live near by and know what car you drive. I was watching you and saw you dropped something.”

I know I sound like an armchair general here but...OP in the last story...they were such sunshine warriors. Like, they saw that Melinda was in dire need of help, the wife even was on speaking terms and he was aware that the co-worker was such a douche. Yet, they just distanced themselves and acted all shocked once Melinda finally fought back. Dunno, it sounds kinda pretentious to invite her back into their life. as in, 'yeah, you had a hard time with your a-hole husband. But, hey, it's all over. Wanna hang out with us again?' Honestly, if I was Melinda I would be so pissed at them.... I hope she finds a good support network. I know that hindsight is 2020 and we can't save and support everyone around us. But...c'mon, if you see someone being abused and feel uncomfortable to be around the abuser yourself...DO SOMETHING!

The only thing OP in story 2 did right was go to district manager. Everything else was just making the situation worse and getting a girl fired. If you see someone getting abused, don't go to the abuser and implicate the victim. No surprise she ended up suffering more because this dude was too busy trying to make himself feel better.

It was 1:30 am and I heard a couple arguing outside my property. I got out of bed and witnessed a man beating a woman. I immediately grabbed my phone and jacket and raced outside to help her. They were still arguing and he was now dragging her over a bridge so I decided to get in my car and follow them. Fortunately there were railway workers that were doing some maintenance on the tracks and they were now shouting at the bloke to stop what he was doing and I saw this as the perfect opportunity for me to call the police whilst racing to make sure she was ok and he didn’t get away. The police finally arrived and they started questioning us all and placed the bloke in handcuffs and a police van took him away as he was shouting and swearing his head off. They turned their attention to the woman who just put her hand up and said.. “excuse me but I’m on the phone!!” I stood there whilst she was making arrangements to meet up with someone for Bingo in a couple of days. She then said “I’m not pressing chargers as I’ve only known him a couple of days and I don’t need the hassle!!” She then walked away. I received a Summons for Court as he’d also assaulted two of the railway workers and two police officers. It’s not the first time that I’ve faced this kind of behaviour from a victim of crime but even after this event I don’t think I could just walk away without trying to help the person being abused.

The OP of story 2 whined way too much about how someone else's assault inconvenienced him. The fact that he was willing to give the manager the benefit of the doubt in a clearly nonconsensual situation was also disgusting. The coworkers being mad at OP for calling out an abuser seems bizarre. However, being mad that his mishandling of the situation cost a sexual assault victim her job seems pretty reasonable.

It’s less being mad about calling out her abuser, and more so being mad about that decision being made for her. Someone in my friend group assaulted me last month, and upon kicking him out of the friend group, I asked my friends to keep me out of it so I can avoid any repercussions of the confrontation (seeing him on campus, him trying to talk to me, etc.). Hope that makes sense, but yes, it seems ridiculous on a surface level.

Manipulative coworkers are the worst... I worked with a coworker who can't work independently, has attitude if I'm assigned to other tasks, wanted me to work alongside him all day everyday, complained about extra tasks, didn't take ownership for bad attitude and responsibility, and wanted me to change my schedule to work alongside him more. This coworker was not only manipulative, but wanting me to work alongside him more was pretty creepy, especially me being a guy myself and not really the kind of person I want in my social circle hence the bad attitude, not taking ownership for anything, and just being straight up a terrible coworker. One of the owners (husband) took his side and believed his so-called medical issues, while the wife totally dislikes him and told me that he was lazy and didn't clean anything properly. As for the medical issues, I don't believe any of it and I think it's just a way to avoid working independently. Anyone who fakes medical issues to avoid working independently is sick altogether... I've also had to deal with my fair share of creepy coworkers, but mostly creepy customers...

One thing I've noticed in these type stories is the constant stereotyping. Quirky people are always on the spectrum and crazy and/or homeless are always addicts. People spend too much time trying to label others, people who have no business doing so in the first place.

@@Iuxinterior The autism spectrum is a medical diagnosis not an adjective so therefore it shouldn't used that way. Not everyone who has quirky behavior is on the spectrum and not all on the spectrum have quirky behavior. Making that assumption is stereotyping and ignorant. Also I said crazy "and/or" homeless people are always accused of being drug addicts in these stories. If someone is crazy they must be on drugs. Or they're homeless they must be on drugs. A person can be either without being on drugs. They can do weird/crazy/creepy things without being on drugs.
