Alone out there can wear on you. In 2009 I spent 90 days in the San Juan National Mountains in Colorado. By the way, that's not exactly legal to do either. Trying to make friends with the local wildlife while living off fish is the best way to cope with the utter loneliness. There was one Ranger that came by occasionally to chat with me, he had no issues with it, as I left no traces when I moved around. I did have a sidearm, but never needed to make use of it.

The creature in the last story sounds like it could have been a fox. Vixen's cries are very loud and can definitely sound somewhat human. Plus, it would explain the sudden silence of the other animal noises. Prey animals often stop making noises around predators, especially larger ones.

In story 3/the bell story, the chimes are probably from nearby hikers' bear bells These bells are designed to alert bears in the area that there's something there and so they can avoid it. It serves as a warning so wild animals aren't startled. If bears are frequent in the area, it makes sense that hikers would carry them, even if there aren't actual bear signs just to be safe

I know where the story at 18:30 takes place! I worked there for a summer a few years ago with the foundation, building poacher outlooks. Beautiful area but definitely reminds you that you’re not the top dog in the jungle. I got rushed by a male there a few times too, I wonder if it was the same orangutan. So crazy to hear it mentioned here. Love your channel, keep up the good work!

Were you too almost murdered by an overgrown housecat?!?! :/ Thank you for your work in deterring poachers. (Truly, No Sarcasm here) It's so sad to think of how many wild animals suffer so some Jap can have a "mystical concoction" to enhance his manhood. Makes me sick. The pelts too, im sure, are worth $, but it's terribly disturbing how many exotic animals are poached for use in these ridiculous Asian remedies.

I wonder if the story with the animals in the trees was a mountain lion that did it, they put their prey up in the trees to keep away from scavengers. Though I'm not sure if they do that many at once.
@sirdumbthicc4294
@sirdumbthicc4294 2 жыл бұрын
I’m from Washington state and most of the time when you stumble on animals hanging in the trees in mass quantities it’s pouchers. Very rarely will you see a mountain lion or cougar, and even more rarely will you see evidence of them hanging their meal in trees as they would eat on the spot and are apex predators in this area. More than likely an old pouchers camp that was abandoned or uninhabited at that time. Take all the animals down and tear down any structure that might be there then turn into the game warden.
@kyblaze2527
@kyblaze2527 2 жыл бұрын
@@sirdumbthicc4294 Cougars very much inhabit Washington state. Just because you don't see them certainly doesn't mean they're not there (stealth predators). Storing prey in trees is highly characteristic of mountain lions, so it's very very likely that's what this person came across. They were smart to get out of there but I highly doubt they were poachers. Poachers wouldn't leave the animals 1. in such bad shape, or 2. to decay and get really nasty. Poachers kill to sell, not to leave alone to rot.

I've been listening to Let's Read for 3 years now. He is my favorite out of all the KZbin story tellers...out of those 3 years...the story about the Lesbian couple...was the first story where I knew them. I was driving at the time of listening. I had to pull over and catch a breath. Memories of my mid twenties came flooding back. You see, I'm pushing 50 myself and grew up in Virginia and met them when I lived in Richmond. I met them when I was 22. We became good friends. I'm still blown away...but I just knew one day...I would hear about it on KZbin or some other platform in these days sometime soon. 😥💔😢🙏

I was born and raised in Aberdeen, WA about an hour south of Lake Quinault. I would be curious to know if that man was ever found, what his story was, and if he ever had any actual victims. That area is so sparsely populated that people could set up camps throughout the peninsula and be undiscovered. I've also visited the east side, and a lot of it has a rugged feeling ideal for cults to thrive.

The "stalked by a Clouded Leopard" story was hilarious, how they played it up as such a "big cat"... They're similar to Ocelots. Barely bigger than house cats. If anyone has ever seen a pet Bengal cat, they're about twice the size of that. The story going on about "if our guide hadn't been there, we'd be in real trouble! He saved our lives!"... Cloudies are literally smaller than a Border collie dog. They have never killed anyone in recorded history. Listen to the story again and imagine a whole group of trained adults, pissing themselves over one curious young bobcat. That was silly. Lol

First story: My back yard. I grew up in Aberdeen WA (Kurt Cobain) and have been to Quinault hundreds of times. We honeymooned in Quinault which is in Grays Harbor County, same as Aberdeen. Very, very familiar with that area.

I wonder if the area the church bells were heard (In Cache Valley Utah) was out in Logan Canyon at the "Witches' Cabin" near the Hobbit Caves? We've been camping out at Right Hand Fork and heard the bells too. And if he is referring to that area: It's way to far from town to hear church bells. Plus I've lived in Logan twice now and don't recall ever hearing church bells even in town, ever.

Worst thing I saw was a whole very large tree covered in bone chimes while hiking in the Appalachian mountains. It was really out in the middle of nowhere
