Same here. In any security company you have security guards calling off sick or else not showing up to work. What usually happens is the shift security guard has to work four hours longer and two shifts over, that guard has to come in four hours earlier, so both of you cover the in-between shift missing its security guard. That happens a lot. Often off-duty guards may get telephoned, asking if they want the overtime by coming in to work on their off-day. Sometimes they say, yes, and sometimes they say, no. In any security company, if you are a reliable, dependable security guard, you can count on a lot of overtime to cover for the sick guards. But like any human being, you see strong, stoic people, I mean, mentally and psychologically, versus weak people, not physically. I've seen six-feet plus tall dudes who call off sick at the first sniffle and are always taking one to three weeks off. Then I've seen short, skinny guys or old guys who are absolutely dependable and reliable. But companies tend to treat the good and bad workers the same because of fear of lawyers and litigation over unfair workplace practices accusations.

For the campus security guard; I am an ex-cop and let me tell you this, a domestic issue is literally the most dangerous situation you can walk into. Period. Emotions are running high, people are upset, angry and usually under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It can be an absolute nightmare! Cops and private security should NEVER walk into a situation like that assuming they are safe. Many law enforcement officers have been wounded or even killed walking into a situation like that and had no idea how volatile it can be.

@@PTSTEH20 it all depends on where you are guarding as to whether or not you carry a gun. A long time ago, I worked security at a coal mining site, and you could bet your a** we were armed there. We had a situation a year or so before I started where a bunch of meth heads came out of their holes one night to a steal as much equipment as they could load up in their vehicle. There was only one unarmed night security guard working there, so they put him on his knees and executed him on the spot. He was a teenager working to pay for college. Afterwards, they stole all the copper they could find as well as a bunch of high dollar mining equipment. All security was mandated to be armed at all sites after that occurrence. If someone is that scared about having to shoot someone because they’re carrying a firearm, they never should’ve been in that business to begin with.

I work at a mall doing Security. A lot of people don't realize how much a mall security guard actually goes through. We are first responders to a lot more than people may think. I've dealt with some pretty sketchy situations and some really sad ones. Within my first few months on the job, there was a first aid call that I attended that I will never forget. When I arrived on scene there was a Male in his mid to late 70's laying on the floor with large amounts of blood coming out of his nose. Nobody that was in the area saw him fall and we had no information on how he got there. The Male was unresponsive but breathing. I had gone into a position and placed him in a C spine hold. For the people that don't know what that is, it is the hold you do when someone may have injured their spine and it's meant to support the head and keep the spine in place. That Male stopped breathing while I was holding him and we did CPR it was unsuccessful. We then used a defibrillator but it was also unsuccessful. That mane passed away in my hands and I will never forget it. I'll never forget the look in his eyes as he fainted away. I cried a lot that day and a few more time after that. I have so much respect to security professionals around the world. No matter what you do in security, you are putting yourself at risk and you are there to protect others.

I live in a trailer. Its elevated like most. My window is pretty high up. If you were to stand next to it outside and I was laying in bed I could move the curtain and we would be face to face with only a piece of glass in between us. We also have a motion detector light that shines in the yard. It occasionally turns on which gives a creepy and unsettling vibe in my yard. I was always terrified that I would turn over at night and be face to face with a stranger. It didnt help when my curtain barely covers the window and I get a clear view almost constantly. It always bothers me, but I manage to ignore it. One week we had a truck drive into our driveway every night about 2 am. It was loud and revved up since we live on an incline. I never thought much of it because he would always pull in, pull out, and turn around. It wasnt a problem since we had farm hands work late in the night for our neighbor. It was just mildly annoying. However, one night I woke up to the same truck only this time the headlights were brightly shining into my window despite my crappy curtain trying it's best to keep it out. I was annoyed and grumpy coming out of my sleep. It took only one second later and I jumped out of bed and was wide awake. I realized two things. One, my driveway is towards the other end of my house so there was no way his headlights could shine into my window. Two, the light seemed to move around although the truck was loud but idle. It was a flashlight. Terrified, I ran to my parents room fearing a break in. My dad ran into the living room and turned on all the lights. I assume seeing the lights the man left our house afraid he would get caught. Rather than call the police like I advised, my dad decided to get into his truck and drive after him. In about 3 minutes my dad called us after finding the dude parked at the end of our dirt road. According to our dad the man seemed high or drunk. The man claimed that he was running low on gas and lost and was coming to our house to ask for some although he had been to our house almost 4 or 5 times the previous nights. After hearing this sketchy story my mom took it upon herself to call the police and since we live almost 15 miles out of town dispatch had a cop stationed further out come check it out. The cop came and made sure we were alright which reassured me. However, the cop found an empty truck where the man once was. He reassured us by saying that he probably was out of gas and had someone pick him up, but I know that wasnt true. He had been there multiple nights before and I'm certain he had a flashlight checking out our place. We never received a follow up from the police or any information on the truck or man driving it. I still think about what would have happened if we hadn't known he was at our house. I also think about what would happened if I had looked out my window. Maybe my worst dream would have happened, maybe I would have came face to face with a stranger... Its not an extremely scary story but it's a scary experience. Its terrifying to go to sleep after something like that. It absolutely destroys your sense of security inside the place you call home. I can tell you now that I will never forget to lock my doors. True story.

The entire room was more than just trashed, it was totally obliterated! That dude (celebrity) had to be on some hardcore drugs to over power the security guards and not go down until he was smashed in the face like 13-14 times! I’m guessing the celebrity was probably a professional athlete. I know the security guard who was stabbed several times sued the celebrity and won a few hundred thousand dollars. Why didn’t the OP sue and get money due to being slashed so deeply on his forearm? I’m guessing there were definitely several NDA’s signed! IF the OP didn’t sue or sign an NDA, I would really like to know who the celebrity is! Anyone with me??? What a crazy night that must have been!

That girl that her boss said "you're not the prettiest thing ya know". He would have gotten a swift kick in the groin. lol I know some people aren't the cutest but still it is SO rude to say something like that. What kind of an a$$hole does that??? I always try to make people feel good about themselves no matter what they look like. i always think those jacka$$es will come back as the most ugliest people alive. lol I'll admit i am rather superficial when it comes to who I date. I am very picky (well i am in a long term relationship now but I mean back when I dated) but still I never insulted anyone. Because how would you like it if you were ugly and someone insulted you? It's just plain mean. I don't know why that struck a cord in me but I just felt the need to say that. I think I was as shocked as her when I heard that reply!!! lol I was like "oh no he f'in didn't!!!". BTW I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos!!!!

So you care about looks too. Why does it matter then? Damn hypocrisy. Judging from your pfp you’re a gold digger who’s probably into bad boys with lots of money.

You know what I personally adore about your stories? If I want a slice of life, I come to you. And then what I super love as an added bonus? When you have a random story in the mix that makes you wonder if it's real... Or not? I hope you're enjoying the weather. Xoxo see you in the comments darling.

I was out walking when I saw a security guard in a shed. I didn't want him to think I was up to anything so I smiled and said hello there. Suddenly the guy started wailing at me so I ran...not sure what he was on.

Guard in story #1: "I felt the responsibilty of possibly having to take someone's life weighing on me daily." Sounds noble enough, but the possibility of him being murdered on the job didn't weigh on him very much I guess. "I would be able to protect people without having to be armed while doing it." I see... Gets laughed at, AND slept, by ARMED criminal. Female employee gets robbed anyway. He Failed Miserably at his job of protecting others, because of his foolish ideals. That's the problem with the anti-gun attitude, thinking that being unarmed is better, while ingoring/downplaying the fact that armed criminals exist, and most have zero issues making you bleed. Why do we act like that's not reality? People, guns aren't the problem...people misusing them are. Remember, when seconds count...the police are only minutes away...

I was assigned to Maryland Terrice. for a while. Rough and Tough Apartment building NE Calgary. Other guards refused to work there. Car break ins, vandalism. I had to write up Incident Reports every week. Punks They dont scare me. Call Calgary Police always backed me up.

Security guards should be given more respect. I've been called a rent a cop before, I worked at the airport and dealt with grown adults having temper tantrums because they couldn't follow the rules and not pack certain items for carry-on.

My dog has to have an operation, my fully stocked fridge and freezer bit the dust during the night, dishwasher and washing machine kicked it last Saturday, air conditioner's giving me the stink eye on a 93 degree day and I have 403.22 in my checking account. On the plus side, Let's Read uploaded, dog's still alive and I've got a six pack of warm beer with my name all over it!
