My wofe and I went on a 10 day cruise. We got to got to 7 islands and the captain did the ceremony ona day we were at sea. No planning was really involved. They did everything. We just had to show up. I think it was around $3000 for the both of us.

Yeah, I’ve done some reckless and dangerous things in my youth but that was insane. I don’t understand what she was thinking in the first place but even more so I don’t understand why she didn’t stay at the rest stop/gas station/wherever she used the bathroom, like why didn’t she wait there until her mom came to get her. I don’t mean to victim blame but come on, did she not have any sense of self-preservation? I guess not.

Story 1 is why the wedding industry is still strong and going. It's one day and I can't justify spending what would equate to a down payment on a house. This is why I'm getting married in my parent's backyard and going mega budget because spending an obscene amount of money on my wedding feels ridiculous to me. I feel great that we're spending well under $2000 and everyone is super excited despite it being small and simple.

to me it is just idiocy. Big fancy expensive weddings are always very stressful, especially on the day you will remember the rest of your life! Ask yourself what do you want to remember , a stress free day with all the parents smiling? You happy and not deep in debt or having spent your life savings.?? I personally never saw the big appeal of over the top weddings, but I know many women do. So whatever makes you happy! But I think you are just being smart! And congratulations! may you have a happy life together!

Here’s a different take on the last story: have more compassion for your children. Obviously what she did wasn’t smart, and she acknowledges that. However, when you’re young and already struggling to navigate your way through life, constantly being told all the ways you’re disappointing your parents can be emotionally devastating. She was blinded by a need to lash out due to being hurt by her parents’ criticism. I’m glad her mom came through for her in the end though, hopefully this experience serves as a lesson learned for them and they are making efforts to learn how to communicate better.

Story 5 is terrifying. Something similar happened to a cop in my BILs department. One of his fellow officers was on his way to a restaurant one night after his shift was over to meet his wife and kids for dinner. Coming straight from work, he was still in full uniform, driving his marked cruiser. He noticed a van following him that seemed suspicious so he made some turns and confirmed they were definitely tailing him. He called for backup and pulled into a parking lot once he had units behind the van. Immediately the van was surrounded at gunpoint by half a dozen cops. Both men surrendered and were arrested without further incident. Police confiscated multiple firearms and thousands of rounds of ammo. There is no doubt in anyone's mind they intended to ambush and terminate that officer that night. Scary stuff! 🤯🤯🤯

The first story, I know exactly what they are talking about. I am from Ocean City, Maryland, and that guy was told numerous times to stop taking pictures of people that guy was creepy all down to the head. Lifeguard was trying to get him out of there by they couldn’t do nothing

#4 Breaking and entering yeah that'll win souls to Christ! Sheesh! My husband and I are Christians ourselves and are married without a ceremony. All that modern tradition stuff isn't even biblical! In the Bible the custom was to have the couple be separated for a year or so while the groom prepared thwir home and the bride waited in anticipation. Then when the bride least expected it the groom would show up often in the middle of the night and whisk her away to make love (which IMHO is super romantic!)...and then after it's party time and they celebrate their union. The white wedding dress was invented in the 1800s by Queen Victoria when she wore white for her wedding and before that women just wore their best dress they had on hand. Heck if queen Victoria wore plaid we'd all be shelling out big bucks for plaid wedding gowns! Sorry for the ramble, just my 2cwnts....

I feel your pain. Mine has gotten a little bit better with age, but even thats a big deal. I feel like I lived for 30 years on about 2 hours sleep a night, I never sleep more than 4 even now. But 4 hours for me is doable. Lets Read makes it bearable to lay there in bed trying, How did I ever deal with it, without him! ?
