But who anointed him as the high priest and the King.. He as a Father anointed himself the son?? Believing such tradition is what puts someone against the Christianity of the the Bible.. Believing Jesus was anointed by the Father the God to save us from Sin and Death is what Christians should believe... Jesus is divine in nature. But not equal with the Father who is almighty, who even gave birth to (created) Jesus.. Jesus is the firstborn of all creations.. Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants, that’s it!!! The Catholics and Orthodox have apostolic succession and a lineage dating back to the apostles. Their church fathers are literally the disciples of the apostles of Jesus. Also let’s point out, they don’t worship Mary as a goddess or the saints as God. They venerate the saints and Mary, in other words highly respect and revere them. Inasmuch as Jesus is our role model, he is perfect, worthy, and God. The saints were not worthy, had sinned in their lives, but still dedicated their lives to God and literally left everything for him. They are our role models as well since they show us that even though we are unworthy and don’t deserve this love from God, we must follow their example of humbleness and loyalty to God. As for the Protestants, some of their denominations have valid sacraments as well and believe in the sayings of the Bible and say that is their authority. Paul however says to believe what is orally spoken and what is written. This is how we know for sure the Holy Spirit is at work in these churches because Jesus gave the Holy Spirit to the apostles and they passed it down to these individuals. Furthermore we know they have the Holy Spirit because although there was a schism and separation that happened between these churches, St. Paul emphasizes in 1. Corinthians 11:18-19, “For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.” Anyone who denies the teachings of the Bible or the true identity of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (God) cannot be Christian. How can you say Mormons, Unitarians, Marcions, and Quakers are Christian??!!! To the Mormons, you cannot be a Christian if you deny the deity of Christ!!To the Unitarians, you cannot be Christian because you don’t believe in the trinity. Although you may say this an invention by the church and is not even biblical, I raise a question to you…. How can God be love if he is not 3 persons but 1 person. Who does he share his love with even before creation started. Love itself must have 3 involved. St. Augustine used a perfect analogy as he said the Father was the lover, the Son is the beloved, and the Spirit is love. The Spirit essentially unites the Father and Son. This is why we can say God is love. To the Marcions, the God of the Old Testament is not different than the God of the New Testament. Also how can you claim the New Testament to be scripture when the Old Testament is literally the basic grounds for why the New Testament was established. When St. Paul says that we are “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone,” who are these prophets? These prophets are the prophets of the Old Testament who were sent by God to deliver a message of hope and warning from the Lord. Same for the apostles. The definition of apostle is one who is sent out. Therefore both Old and New Testament have the same foundation and therefore the same God. To the Quakers, St. Paul points out that there must be bishops and deacons within the church. Very simply, where are you rooted in. Do you follow the Bible or are you simply using morals to justify your faith? Because then you should read 1. Timothy Chapter 3, and let the spirit guide you into the truth of what the church is supposed to be structured like. Also, why don’t you have sacraments. These are straight up commandments from Jesus Christ in the new testament that you must follow. If you knowingly reject the participation of the sacraments you are not of the church or the body of Christ.

Once upon a time, the Orthodox and Catholics were one church, that is, they were all Orthodox. The Western and Eastern churches existed, but the Western church changed its teachings and became heretical officially in 1054. The Roman Catholic Church is the origin of all Protestant heresies and over 300 Protestant heresies or sects. The Roman Catholic Church is heretical and the source of all heresies or sects.

While many Christians are antagonized for their beliefs, none are more so than the Mormons (with Mennonites being a close second). Its pretty hard to understand why if you've met Mormons before. I was fortunate enough to know quite a few when I served in the Army. Even one of my drill sergeants in basic training was Mormon, as well as one of my Platoon Leaders. They were in my experience excellent soldiers, loyal, honorable, kind (well the DS didn't 'seem' kind of course!), and professional. I am also fortunate enough to have a few Mormons as personal friends. Knowing how nice these people are, how kind they are, and how much they help their communities, it makes one wonder why such a group is so demonized. Well it comes down to how kind and helpful they are. That is why they are targeted. I wanted to call it jealousy. That people see in them something they lack themselves and lash out. But I'm afraid it is worse than that. The Church of Latter-Day Saints has some doctrines that are strange and I hesitate to call incorrect due to the ideal of friendship and I will only say it out of sincerity (and please don't take that as a criticism, I don't wish for you do feel the need to change or defend such doctrines, just as Jesus did not require a Roman Centurion to abandon his duties). However their doctrines do produce a group of people who are doing far more good than harm. And it is for that reason people attack them. People in general wish to live in a society without consequences. Those who adhere to good tenants threaten that ideal. When groups of people begin having standards against divorce, adultery, excess, and not taking personal responsibility, it makes others very uneasy. And it should. Your best course of action is to continue to live as you do, do the good that you do, and thus inspire others to do the same. The more attacks you receive because of it, the more good you are doing.

@@pumpkinthe15th16 This is a common LDS manipulation, to say "we DO believe that!" but have a totally different definition of something than Christians do. Mormons will happily say that Jesus the savior, but they have a totally separate usage of that word. One of the fundamentals of Christianity is that man cannot atone for sin, only God can, which means that if Jesus was not truly God then His death meant nothing and saved nobody. It was only because Jesus is God that His death and resurrection save us. Furthermore, ascension critically undermines the Christian doctrine of God. If God is an ascended being then He is not eternal, and if He's not eternal then He isn't actually God and isn't worth worshipping. If humans can ascend then there is no creator-creature distinction and there's no point in worshipping God, just worship yourself. So no, you don't believe in Christ as savior, you just believe in Him as God's favorite guy, not that you ACTAULLY believe in God anyway.

@@DavidPeel-fo9xv In many ways (such as no baptism, no proper Church, no concrete set of religious views), but the main one is that it is no longer a Christian group, it has it's roots in Christianity but these days it has very little to do with it; it's more of a philosophy or way of life based on parts of Christianity whilst most of the rest is ignored (some of it's members aren't even religious at all nor want to be). I've had experience with Quaker groups from a young age; I've been to multiple meeting houses (including the central one in London), taken part in their meetings for worship, been to Quaker youth events (where 9/10 of the participants are hardline atheists) when I was young and I know a lot about the group, their history and their beliefs. In all of my experiences with the Quakers, I've never seen a cross or real reference to Jesus/Christianity (except for the odd Bible in or two in each meeting house) and many of it's Christian members use different names for God in their meetings to avoid offending the atheists and "spiritual" members. Quakerism isn't a Christian movement anymore and I'd consider its current state to be a corruption of Christianity/Christian ideals although many (around half) of its members are (genuine) Christians. By heretical, I mean that it has false teachings, not that (all of) it's members aren't true Christians like the Mormons or JW, etc.
@DavidPeel-fo9xv2 ай бұрын
@@zobandzeff I get where you’re coming from about nonreligious Quaker, but I do know that there are some Quaker groups that do worship Christ, although lacking a clergy or ordinances like baptism. "Christian" does mean something, though. Saying you're a thing doesn't make you that thing. Christianity is defined as the belief in Christ as God, the second member of the Trinity. We're not saying slight differences make someone not Christian, we're saying that denying the one most basic element of the religion does. It would be like someone saying that "I don't believe that Mohammad was Allah's greatest prophet, but I'm still a Muslim." It just doesn't make sense. Also Mormons believe in ascension, which means they're not monotheistic, so they're not even Abrahamic, let alone Yahwehic.

Good attempt, but made some errors. Taxonomically speaking, there are actually FIVE branches, and these cover over 99.5% of all 2.4 billion Christians in the world. 1. Eastern Christian (six families: Eastern Orthodox [you ignored the other five: Oriental Orthodox, Dyophysite/Nestorian, Old Believers, Independent Orthodox, Independent Oriental Orthodox]) 2. Catholic (two families: Roman Catholic, Eastern Catholic) 3. Protestant (at least 22 families such as Adventist, AIC, Baptist, Brethren, Charismatic, Lutheran, Methodist, etc.). Quakers and the Nontrinitarians, like the Unitarians and INC, belong to this branch because they use the Protestant Bible and believe in the traditional Protestant understanding of the supremacy of the Bible (e.g., sola scriptura) 4. Anglican/Independent Catholic (you overlooked the via media branch. While it started as a Protestant faith, and even many adherents consider themselves to be Protestant, its authority structure shows it to be independent. It has five families: Anglican Communion, Independent Catholic, Old Catholic, Continuing Anglican, and Independent Anglican) 5. Latter-day Saint (you got this one right, but it has three branches: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints [98-99.5% of total, depending on evaluation criteria], Fundamentalists [those who still practice polygyny], and the Prairie Saints [those who separated and stayed in the East when the majority migrated to what became Utah]) Anything derived from Marcion is irrelevant, as his followers never amounted to much. I suspect you confused them with the Nestorians, who were a power back in the day before they were exterminated mainly by the Muslims under Timur. Finally, ALL five branches agree on the core biblical teaching, which is that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is the only way for us to be saved. Disagreements lie in interpretation (what a biblical passage or doctrine means) and in authority (how one legitimately acts on God's behalf and how God recognizes the validity of our rituals and ordinances).

All of the original Protestants used liturgical worship services, and many of us who still belong to the original Protestant movements still do. In the LCMS our style of service looks more like an Orthodox service than what you see in the rock and bebop churches. Non-denominational churches use drums and guitars, but these people are not Protestants, they're unaffiliated by their own admission.
