Late but here’s the complete summary Love comprises 3 main components - *Intimacy* : closeness and connectedness - *Passion* : romance - *Commitment* : Conscious decision to love _1 component love types:_ 1. *Infatuation (Passion)* You aren’t necessarily compatible or have much in common 2. *Liking/Friendship (Intimacy)* You’re very at ease with one another can be yourself around them 3. *Empty love (Commitment)* Romance and closeness aren’t strong. You focus on being together _2 components love types_ 4. *Romantic love (Passion + Intimacy)* You desire for one other and are very intimate with each other Can be seen in affairs 5. *Companionate love (Intimacy + Commitment)* This love is built from strong trust, devotion and emotional closeness. There is no romance and it can be platonic. Can be seen in close friends, family and married couples 6. *Fatuous love (Passion + Commitment)* This love is filled with Passion and part Commitment but lack Intimacy Can be seen in courtship and arranged marriage _3 components love type (the ultimate)_ 7. *Consummate love (Passion + Intimacy + Commitment)* Couple can have great sex long after marriage Are happy to be with each others company Can’t imagine being with anyone else *Important:* Without communication, even the strongest of love will die

Here is a reason you don't ship real people: My friends were shipping me with this person and they said things like 'you obviously like them' and stuff like that. This made me believe I did, when I didn't. They asked me out the next day and I said yes, but three days later I realised I never actually liked them, which put both of us in an awkward situation. It caused a lot of stress for the both of us. Conclusion: don't ship real people

I’m with you there. I’m demi and up until I fell in love with my best friend (now my fiancée) I didn’t think I was capable of romantic and/or sexual attraction. I do find the very mono-amorous bias a bit annoying, because it assumes that people should just be happy in a single relationship when in reality some people need multiple relationships to satisfy their needs otherwise they just fall into that “empty love”. “Consummate love” isn’t the ultimate kind of love - every type of love is valid and there shouldn’t be this great shame about you being content in your current relationship but wanting to develop romantic/sexual relationships with other people. I’ve found a partner who I’m very passionate, intimate and committed to, but we don’t hold ourselves to the highly rigid standard that we should never think about also being with anyone else. The presentation of consummate love is stated to be obtainable, but honestly it isn’t for everyone and other types of love shouldn’t be invalidated just because they don’t fit society’s rigidly monogamous standards.

Y e s I'm demiromantic and it's r e a l l y hard for me to fall in love with someone, I can have a really good time with friends without wanting to expand it into a relationship, but because I'm demiro, my relationships will always be like an expansion of my friendship with them, I would not say like "the next step" because that makes it sound like the friendship was inferior, it's the same but with more things, like more physical contact and all the stuff you do with your partner lmao

While I appreciate what you have tried to do here, like so many other comments where I have seen the same. I do not believe it to be highly effective in the long term. I am not going to say you are wrong for trying to be kind and loving to strangers on the internet but, I certainly don't feel loved by a comment that anyone can read. I have a message for those who think the same as me. This message is more something I tell others; but in fact is something I need to keep telling myself. Try to find validation in yourself in whatever way you can. You might think you hate yourself, but if that's the case; you can certainly make a list on the things you hate about yourself that you want to improve/change. Be realistic, you can't change everything so easily. What you can improve? Make a list and work on them overtime. I will be honest and tell you that I jump back into the loop sometimes and I have been riddled with guilt and regret in the past. Don't get your all of validation from KZbin comments guys, support each other of course and try to give each other something to aspire to. I just want a friend that's better than family for me, (my family relationship isn't really deep) Just a partner in crime, where it feels like we are on the same wavelength and we actually understand another. And don't got to pull teeth just to text, or hangout. The ones who know everything but keep it just between us two. But that is rare as hell. At least with romantic relationships you got that first month where everything is nice and happy. Most friendships feel like a missed target where you just motivate yourself to react with them.

There are no different types of love; love is love. But there are different types of relationships, where love&other things are mixed in a own, special way. This is what makes those relationships all special. But love is love. One energy, one feeling; love itself is one single, own thing. A relationship with love in it can have different influences with varying intensity. But love in itself is just love, while lust is lust, etc. It's very own thing. They're different things. They don't change their very substance, their material, what they are. But they can mix with each other, among other ingredients.

Nah, sometimes things just fade. Just depends, could of been situational love (or friends) . Or just you two don't have enough in common anymore. Or one of you just changed or both. At one point you're just forcing it because either you don't want to be alone or because they didn't do anything wrong so just leaving them would just feel weird.

i have companionate love with a lot of my friends and even though we have that connection, because we miss the passion, its hard to move it a step further into anything more than friends
The true love with all the 3 forms of attraction is known by me. Its how I fall for someone, - they need to fall into the wide category of good looking (if they do they trigger sexual fantasies) - I need to have the gut feeling of her golden pink aura (If she has it i start to develop a crush on her) - and of course the last one is the hardest, cause I need to date them to get that, and I never came that far. But know how I would know I woukd have mental attraction: she would understand me and push me to my boundaries, force me to become a better person. But I all those 3 points kinda fit with the earth. I got a deep connection with her, I love her beauty, I am mentally dependent on her and it is the most spiritual place

Me and my S.O. went from infatuation to fatous love to consumate! Idk if that's the way it should go but it took a while for us to actually because intimate and friends with one another. Trust was a big issue since he had dealt with a very abusive GF before me and I had dealt with a very abusive BF before him. Things have gotten so much better with all three however! He feels like home

I think "Liking or Friendship" doesn't cover familial love and the original platonic love (the love one has for their students). They are incredibly important kinds of love and definitely should not be overlooked.

well, something that I once before thought, was, my viewpoint on love, was skewed, and one sort of thing, possibly almost ruined it, until I talked to someone about it, and, they said that it was just due to them not wanting to hurt people, physically or emotionally, but, after somethings, things were fixed, and other things would have to be dealt with, but I think things will be great

Just saw my ex from high school last night. I’ve known her since I was 12 and had a crush on her immediately. I dated her from 15 to 19 and treated her poorly before breaking up with her. We started talking during the pandemic. It had been 5 years since I had seen her last. We met at a bar and oh my god all the old feelings came rushing back. She has a boyfriend but that doesn’t bother me I was just happy to see her again. I think we had a good conversation and we were there from 10 to close. Tears flowed once or twice. I realized I’m probably still in love with her to some capacity. I’m really fucked up about this. She isn’t responding to my messages anymore. Idk what that means especially since she said text me whenever. Ugh.

@user-oj3vv1yz5w2 жыл бұрын
@@tren6893 she texted me back a month later and we hit it off. Started just sending memes but in a short period of time she would end up calling me 3-4 times a day. Spending hours on the phone daily just confirmed it all in my mind. It made me all realize that I don’t have chemistry like that with anybody else I’ve ever met and I never wanted it to end. At the end of the day though we lived 6 hours away from each other and she was still living with her boyfriend. I could deal with it all because it meant that I still got to talk to her. She started sending me racy photos over snapchat and complaining about her boyfriend to me after 9 months of talking every day. I finally said we had to establish boundaries. That led to a 4 hour conversation about all the reasons it can’t work and that she felt betrayed that I loved her and kept up a facade of friendship. She said she was happy with where she was but then would justify all the shady stuff she was sending me (which I would ignore and never bring up that it made me uncomfortable) and her boyfriend being shitty to her. I told her that she was using me as a crutch to hold up her own relationship because their is no reason for her to be talking to an ex for 3 hours a day on average. She went from maybe we can talk once a day to once a week to once a month and I told her I don’t have any friends where I have to put limits on how much I can talk to them. We decided to not talk anymore. She snapped me the next week and I got upset. She got upset at me. We haven’t spoken in 6 months now. I think about her every day. I’ve dated someone since I stopped talking to her and it didn’t work. She said that her boyfriend proposed and she said no but they stayed together. That was extremely telling to me. Idk what happens now.

When "companiate love" is defined by it's so special connection, intimacy&commitment, then how does it make sense to say that "romantic love" ("companiate love"+passion) likely becomes "companiate love" when intimacy gets lost. While having especially deep intimacy is a key point of "companiate love"? Because this kinda contradicts itself
@lullabysorrow57463 жыл бұрын
Because you still respect and value them as a person, and even though it's not as intense as when it first started, you enjoy life with them anyways and you want to keep on living each day with them. Helping another both grow into even stronger versions of themselves, and life without them would defiantly be a more dull experience. Pretty much just think of this, that classic disney couple's love story where it's all nice and magical and then once that's over they just live happily ever after. I think the only one you really get to see that with is the Cinderella movies, the first one where she falls for the prince, and the 3rd one "A twist in time" where you can see how they live together, which is just a normal happy pair.

Be careful with this. You can do everything right and love the person with all your being, but you are not guaranteed they're being truthful honest or even love you in return. People will lie to get what they want and what it seems like a lot of people want is to treat others like crap and blame everything on them too. I don't date anymore because I'm sick of the game. It's a mean and cruel game people like to play because apparently we enjoy hurting others. Most relationships are toxic because we're such a sociopath species.

We all are evolving, ideally we are also Maturing, in our Thoughts, ie: We have chosen to have an established habit of being: "Conscious in Thought":+ "Applying Higher Mind" 🔑 Here we can understand that we may Love someone always, but the "in-love" phase can fade. Most are nit meant to be in a lifetime commitment. When someone decides to leave to be with another, it isn't a reflection on their 1st partner, it's an experiencing of something/someone new in their Life Journey. Also, not all desire to be in a partnership for the rest of their life, but they may not discover this until they are 45. It is about their desires, not an insult to their oartner. At least 50%+ of our stress fades when we choose ti practice Higher Mind aka Mature Mind. Mature Thought resolves all the "Lower Mind aka Ego Mind aka Adolescent Mind" drama and negative thought energies. 🔑 Beth Bartlett Sociologist/Behavioralist and Historian
