I'd say the best vehicle I ever handled from a non-driving game is the Seamoth from Subnautica. It's zippy, feels really good, and--best part--you can jump out of the water like you're a dolphin. Then again, I don't really play games that have "diving sections", unless we start counting horseback riding. Or flying around as a literal bird, in which case I recommend the Guardians of Ga'Hoole game. It's a short little game that was a tie-in with the movie, but aerial combat as an owl is quite fun.

Speaking of vehicle sections in COD games, Black Ops has several memorable ones. Like that part where you get to drive around in Cuba for roughly 15 seconds. But my favorite part is probably the one where you and Woods steal an enemy attack helicopter and somehow know how to operate it. What makes it even better is the fact that just about anything you shoot causes a massive explosion. Like that oil pipeline that runs all across the level for some reason.

I won't lie to you, the Dog Fights in COD IW are super fun & and fresh in the franchise regardless of the generic shooting it has throughout the campaign and the bad multiplayer mode... It would be worth buying the game if the game would be 20-25 dollars cause the dogfight sections are worth that much... IW campaign is decent too and the dog fighting side missions other than main missions made it fun of a game. The game tanked for other different reasons, in all honestly IW was a pretty decent game...

More piloting than driving, but Star Wars battlefront 2 (not the EA one). A lot of the mechanics in the game are a bit clunky by the standards of today, but they still hold up decently. Sure the controls were fairly simple, but honestly thats why they worked. Smaller ships felt nimble, bombers felt heavy, and the command(?) ships felt like giant fridges with guns and engines, which is exactly what they should feel like. Ship to ship combat? select a target, get missile lock if you have them, and use your blasters. Capital ships? Take a bomber, and, well. bomb them, specifically the modules. Or take a command ship, go inside, and start sabotaging.
