To be fair, da Vinci's tank in real life was sabotaged in the first place. He intentionally made it immobile by planning the diagram with both sets of wheels facing opposite each other so that it could not be used. Peace, not war.

+brandon mccleskey Yeah, I also recall reading somewhere that there was definitely some sort of oversight that made the mission lack a crucial checkpoint. I remembered how annoying it was to keep doing the part *before* the tank over and over after failing the tank part. To those very few people who still care enough to 100% synch it, I sort of recall circling around and strafe shooting the other tanks to be the key. If you're not moving say...due to being at one end of the map or corner, then you may as well start over...again.

While yes, it is possible to do, in brotherhood (not ACII), it is a stressful pain in the ass. And I believe the requirement of not getting hit is explained in the story as "How Ezio did it, so to fully sync with him you have to do it that way as well"

In the dlc for ME 2 you get several missions where you use the Hammerhead. A vehicle that makes the Mako seem nimble. Speaking of the Mako they could made lush rolling hills but instead they made the geometry universe. Every time you land you hope you don't get caught in another isosceles triangle. Additionally did someone think it would be fun inching along for 10 minutes to get to a patch of grass 2 inches away and upon reaching it zip away in seconds?

I was doing a big "WTF?" on the Mako being on the list, considering it's one of the most awesome vehicles ever, and incredibly easy to drive and control and can handle terrain where a wheeled vehicle really should not even be able to go. The fact that they had to use a clip of where they drove it out of bounds to show it's bad pretty much says it all.

Honestly IMO the Mako was stupid easy to drive on console. Ya literally just push the stick in the direction you want to go and hold it. It bounces and sometimes will bounce off course but if you keep holding the joystick it literally corrects it's own course. I honestly think people just overthink the controls.

A bit unsurprising (considering how much Assassin's Creed loves to play with real history), but that wasn't just some crazy idea they came up with for the game. Like the glider, the tank is based on an actual DaVinci design. He was amazingly ahead of his time, but that does not change the fact that (as seen in the game) the tank he designed was about as fast and powerful as the Scooty Puff Junior from "Futurama".

Helladamnleet over Thanksgiving break. There was a Leonardo Da Vinci exhibit at the Bush Library in College Station, TX. Some excellent engineers remade it off of the Da Vinci codex designs, using true to time techniques and materials. It basically involved a tank commander calling orders and directions while observing the surroundings through a grouping of port holes at the top, a team of 2 operating the guns, and either 2 or 4 actually moving the tank. It was dark af inside, and they would have 2 lanterns inside.

The Mako was fantastic in basically every way unless you just sucked. Well, and until you tried taking it up a mountain and decided to tap that jump. Suddenly, super fast negative progress! Honestly, it was nowhere near on par with the best video game vehicles (like Halo), but the only thing that I really the devs had added was a forward boost. That wouldn't made mountain climbing a lot less problematic.

Why the hate? I loved Hammerhead, and I wish there was more of it in the game - it had really smooth controls and probably the only 'bad' thing about it was the fragility of it, but what it didn't have in shields, it made up with the speed.

You need bad vehicles? Take a look at Totally Accurate Battle Simulator. The chariot unit’s rider will almost always fall of of the vehicle. Perhaps take the da Vinci tank. Maybe even the Tank, which’s pilots ride on top of it. Don’t even get me started on the custom made helicopter unit.

The Leonardo tank is moved by gears on the inside of the tank and is turned by a rail like system and the walls are angled because it is used to deflect enemy ballistics so the cannons would just bounce off unless the walls aren't armoured

The Landspeeder in Jedi Academy. Remember that one Mission on Zonju V where you had to drive them? Yeah, fun times. The controls are incredibly stiff, almost as if they decided to just take the Tauntauns they already had, give them some new textures and that, turn the speed up, and then change literally nothing else. Also, theres a jump at the end where you need to use your speed boost. Only problem, youre in luck if you know it exists by the time you need it, letalone know how to activate it, as the game never tells you, and the controls menu is unhelpful.

Honestly, the vehicles in Outcast and Academy are just rubbish across the board. You give up your awesome force powers, your ability to take cover, all your good guns, and your incredibly sophisticated for its era lightsaber combat to move a little faster. Or a little slower in the case of the AT-ST. Sometimes you're forced as at Zonju V and some of the AT-ST sequences where you have to destroy something with way too many HP to take down with normal weapons, but sometimes they think it's a lark to give you an AT-ST and put you up against hordes of stormtroopers with anti-armor missiles in the fog.

Kind of. The horsepower is based on how much power was transmitted when a workhorse pulled a flour mill. So it was originally describing the average power output of one horse over the course of a length of time. It was a measurement that tested the horse's endurance as much as it did it's strength. That'd be like saying one guy could hold 5 pounds at arms length for an hour but another guy was 5 times stronger because he could momentarily lift 25 pounds at arms length.

***** I'll admit that a controller gives more precision with driving a vehicle, but it isn't as much as you make it out to be. No one holds down "A" to go left. They tap the key a few times, which is similar to how race car drivers steer anyway, with a few measured turns of the wheel. PC is at its best in FPS games. The mouse gives unparalleled control to aiming a weapon. Which if you play FPS games with vehicles, that advatange with the only slight disadvantage to driving wasd over controller, I'd pick PC anyday of the week.
