@@FriedChairs it's what I see in young people. There's more superficial relationships that lack trust and fewer meaningful connections. I will say my 20 year old male twins have some good friends but are yet to find a female they feel is trustworthy. I'm sure that doesn't apply to 100% but it's noticable with the kids I know.

A silly opinion. Yes the tech helped us have superficial relationships, but we are not lonely because of the tech. We are lonely because we are ever more comfortable and meek at home and incapable of using the tech responsibly. There is nothing wrong with the tech, but there is a lot of wrong with humans who use the tech to escape pain or adventures. The tech itself is just an instrument.

I’d love to see a bit more depth on some of these topics. There’s nothing new here, but I like the idea of consolidating risks and rewards into a single video. Maybe start a series where you expand on some of these individual topics, like the experience people will likely have. I think one of the top questions is, “What will people do with this $3500 headset?” Some exploration of this would be really fun, even if totally speculative. We do have some interesting historical data to look at with other platforms, but given what’s going on, what are some likely candidates for most common use cases? From all I’ve seen, it seems one such thing would be a new general computing experience. You know productivity, multi-window, multi-app workflows, meetings, planning, writing, reading, learning, researching.. etc.

100% I've always been on the ground floor of new technology from the PDA, personal computer, first smartphone, Oculus Rift. Having said that, I'd love to jump into one of these headsets. This is a device that will be of greater use in the future once, as you pointed out, the content providers will embrace it and create new experiences and uses for it. I am left disappointed with the VR experience, that in the 7 years since I first put on the headset, the content isn't of the quantity and quality that I had hoped for even though I'm anticipating my 3rd headset. At $3,499, I'm going to sit this one out until I see what will be available in the future before I invest. In time, technology becomes better, faster, cheaper and I expect the unit will be more efficient in size and energy consumption. From the reviews I've seen, the Vison Pro provides a new level of interaction with the world, but this is clearly Apple's way of paving the way of creating a device with almost limitless scalability into every aspect of digital convergence. Soon the clones will flourish, but Apple is driving us forward. There is definitely an MR headset in my future!

I’ve spent the last 5 years basically living my social life in VR with thousands of other people doing the same. Irl social isolation does happen to an extent only because your no longer forced to socialize with the people immediately around you like your annoying neighbors that you have little in common with. You have more friend options now. Also 3 to 6 hours is about all people can handle with out a break. So people are not starving, becoming sleep deprived or dying in VR. Before VR people were spending this time as zombies staring at a phone, before that a tv. VR gets you up, physically active and socially engaged. Not sure how that’s a negative alternative to getting fat on your couch. Everything will be fine.😅

@tonyhawk123 Жыл бұрын
@@EnigmaticEncounters420 yeah the price should come down with scale, but not sure the iPhone is the best comparison. The iPhone wasn't that expensive, it just felt that way because it was an upfront cost instead of being subsidised by a contract. The tech in the iPhone in the years since the first model hasn't done anything to make it a cheaper device - if anything its gone the other way and Apple has put everything bar the kitchen sink into the iPhone. Multiple camera, LiDAR etc. With the headset it really needs to buck the trend and start simplifying the tech, replacing it with software smarts.

Appreciate your comment! Ya I definitely think MR will transform learning in the years to come, it'll be cool to see how people incorporate these technologies into their workflow the more they progress.

Please, there's not such a thing like 'no turning back', I'm hundred percent shure the same was said about the stem engine, the transistor, industrial fertilizers, the incandescent bulb, penicillin, plastic, nuclear plants and so on but, here we are, using alternatives like crazy and seeking even better tech. The choice is always there, the possibilities never run out because we humans, don't like limits nor boundaries, so this is not "the change", is a change towards WALL-E distopia if extremist and lazy people does not make good use of it. That's it. Good luck.

Number 1 should be Apple's goal of emptying your bank account or maxing out your credit cards. Last of all would be customer satisfaction.

Oh come on. This is going to do so much more. Wait until they make these into contacts. We’re going to laugh how we needed a big clunk of tech on our heads.

Ya I wonder how long the timeline will be between the vision pro release and the introduction of a contact lens like that! Anything could happen at this point. Thanks for watching Ralph!

100% - This was the best video I've seen to date exposing Apple's Vision Pro to the valid criticism it deserves. There could be downsides to this device 'IF' it were successful. Fortunately, it won't be. The truth is the 'job's' described here that the devise will be useful to preform, are not compelling enough to overcome the inertia to deploy a new, potentially hazardous level of tech. I predict that the Apple Vision Pro simply won't succeed in the marketplace.

This will have a significant impact to people who are low-income. Those earning minimum wage, immigrants, those on disability support or social assistance. IN Face we run the risk of being excluded from the AR environment altogether as being technology luddites leading to sustained poverty, isolation from society and exclusion from opportunities to thrive and prosper.

Great content. But we know these goggles are for the rich only. And it seems it's not made for people with glasses, of course, unless you buy an attachment for it.😂 nice job, Tim Cook. Way to Cater to the few, and forget the rest.
@engineering_evolved Жыл бұрын
Appreciate it Jerome! Yes I definitely agree it's overpriced, and it's likely most of the customers willing to pay full price will be early adopters along with developers. I imagine many others who can't afford the vision pro will opt for less expensive headsets like the quest 3. Thanks for watching!
