By the way ORATS is doing pretty decent job in terms of options backtesting

Hi Kevin , Is it just possible to add and trade many contracts in one single strategy i.e at basket / portfolio level ? Wouldn't that be more capital efficiency ? So if this is the case what would be other important considerations in that type of trading of course beside correlation among the components of the basket Your input is highly appreciated

Thanks for the question. It is VERY hard to find a single strategy that will work well with many different instruments. But, you could do multiple strategies with multiple instruments - that is what I do. You get the diversification this way, as long as you avoid correlated strategies/markets.

Hi Kevin. Can you please explain what you mean when you say we should trade more around 70 systems?

MY point is if you have many strategies with an edge in different markets, you can greatly smooth out your equity curve and benefit from diversification.

Hi there! Thanks for great info! Can you share if you had good results with the HOD and Gap fill in the ES as intra day strategy? I thought that yes.. but then you mentioned that you are mainly on swings and must day traders that actually work are high speed computers trading.

Yes, I have had good results with those intraday. I suggest you test and see if you do too!

Kevin- Learning so much from you and your resources! With diversification in mind, do you have any tips on trying to trade multiple strategies on the same symbol but on different time frames? I've seen your complex article on summing, but I'm wondering if things like setstoploss and barssinceentry will fail if they are running on different time frames and hence different charts. For example, a daily strategy is 1 contract long and an 5m strategy is also 1 long, but has a stop loss that I want to hit, would it assume the P/L from the daily strategy and fail to execute the stop for the 5m? How would you trade this? Thanks!

Thanks for the question. I describe various ways in this article, some work with different bar sizes: www.kjtradingsystems.com/trading-multiple-algo-strategies-with-the-same-instrument.html The best solution I use right now is the bridge to NinjaTrader - I happen to like that one quite a bit. You'd really have to test any keyowrd you use, to make sure it works properly with multiple strategies.

Hi Kevin, How long do your systems usually last?
@AlgoTradingWithKevinDavey3 жыл бұрын
Depends. I have some I have been trading for more than 10 years. Other fail after a few months... The key is to keep the pipeline of strategies going!
