Wasting time/ procrastinating hits me hugely as I'm sure it does for others. I get home from work, know I have to do this or that but say "hey, I work 10 hour days outside in Arizona. I deserve a rest before chors, working out etc." But I sit down on the couch, or in front of my PC and bam its 7pm and time for bed.

I tend to overuse KZbin. It's great for staying current, learning about shooting, hunting, fishing and being entertained. I have little kids and work so I don't always have time to make it out fishing for long or time at the range. But I do have the ability to take little pockets of time to do this and it's free

I find myself watching KZbin videos. I guess like I am now but I try to keep myself informed as far as world events. We could talk about the digital ID, digital currency, war in Ukraine or even the Middle East like what is going on in Israel. I personally try to share Jesus Christ whenever I can because He is the only hope people have. Jesus Christ is Lord!

I agree with a lot of this but I think the biggest thing is moderation. Gaming, watching videos, scrolling, etc isn't inherently bad but if done to an excess THEN it is wasting time and can negatively affect your life. I myself am a gamer and do play quite a lot of hours of gaming but it is usually late nights when I have nothing going on or nothing to do. I don't see that as a negative, it's a way to destress, unwind, and have some fun. However, if you do these things IN PLACE of things you should/need to be doing then that is detracting from your life. Love your videos John and would love to have a conversation with you someday.

Screen time-in whatever form-carries a heavy opportunity cost. It’s not just that can crowd out necessities. You’re giving up time for recreation or relationships or personal development that would be way more valuable.
@TomahawkAssault
@TomahawkAssault Ай бұрын
@@scottboyce Wrong. Exactly what you said applies to time spent reading books, or almost any other form of recreation. Almost everything you do in life, someone like you can come along and make an argument that there is probably something even better you **could** be doing. There is time enough for balance and moderation in all things. What you are assuming is that the person who is gaming hasn't already spent quality time with his family, or on personal development, which says more about your prejudicial view of others than anything. One can watch a movie, or play a video game with friends, while also consistently spending time with family and growing in life.

You are so right on how when your body goes down it affects everything. I was in “fighting shape” doing martial arts and now I’m gaining weight while trying to heal. I’m reignited to spend my down time better with spending more time reading things that matter and less time mindlessly scrolling. I may be sick but I’m not out of the fight! I've been watching your channel for a while now, and this is really the first time I've commented on anything in a long time. I greatly appreciate the content you have put out. When I had my daughter, my first child, I began looking to your channel for wise counsel on firearms and really the core of what you stand for; the warrior poet way. Now, being 24 with 3 children I am overwhelmingly greatful for the content you put out because in the world we live in now we need many more men like you leading from the front. And so, from a man who has struggled through much, I thank you for being a guide in these difficult times. Everything you do and say points right back to Christ.

Is it a waste of time watching KZbin videos if your educating yourself on certain topics and then putting it to practice . Is there a point were your spending so munch time on education it’s a waste of time. If you spend 20 years educating your self on one specific topic. & then you find your self to old or out of shape to put what you studied to use . I think if there something you want to do or see before your time is up on earth. You should make that priority number one in your life . Live life like there is no tomorrow. . I’m 52 years old I found Iv put so munch on hold for one thing or the other . I now know I’m past the better half of my life . Time is not slowing down . I’ve spent my life planning for old age . Now I’d rather say I did nothing to prepare for older age and did everything before it was too late .
