I agree with a lot of this but I think the biggest thing is moderation. Gaming, watching videos, scrolling, etc isn't inherently bad but if done to an excess THEN it is wasting time and can negatively affect your life. I myself am a gamer and do play quite a lot of hours of gaming but it is usually late nights when I have nothing going on or nothing to do. I don't see that as a negative, it's a way to destress, unwind, and have some fun. However, if you do these things IN PLACE of things you should/need to be doing then that is detracting from your life. Love your videos John and would love to have a conversation with you someday.

Screen time-in whatever form-carries a heavy opportunity cost. It’s not just that can crowd out necessities. You’re giving up time for recreation or relationships or personal development that would be way more valuable.
@TomahawkAssaultАй бұрын
@@scottboyce Wrong. Exactly what you said applies to time spent reading books, or almost any other form of recreation. Almost everything you do in life, someone like you can come along and make an argument that there is probably something even better you **could** be doing. There is time enough for balance and moderation in all things. What you are assuming is that the person who is gaming hasn't already spent quality time with his family, or on personal development, which says more about your prejudicial view of others than anything. One can watch a movie, or play a video game with friends, while also consistently spending time with family and growing in life.

Is it a waste of time watching KZbin videos if your educating yourself on certain topics and then putting it to practice . Is there a point were your spending so munch time on education it’s a waste of time. If you spend 20 years educating your self on one specific topic. & then you find your self to old or out of shape to put what you studied to use . I think if there something you want to do or see before your time is up on earth. You should make that priority number one in your life . Live life like there is no tomorrow. . I’m 52 years old I found Iv put so munch on hold for one thing or the other . I now know I’m past the better half of my life . Time is not slowing down . I’ve spent my life planning for old age .
