I am definitely over 50 (71) actually and I would wear most everything you show. Except, no socks with Mary Janes. But that being said, one of my favorite outfits back in the early to mid 80’s was a pair of jeans, a white button down blouse or white T-shirt, a black blazer and black block heeled loafers worn with white socks. I am happy to wear that again this year. It is very classic and I tend to veer in that direction. Love your videos!

Jamie, I am in the way over 40 group but non the less enjoy your videos. Loved the Moto Jacket looks, the knee high boot looks and the plaid blazer looks! Longer denim skirts are just difficult to wear for myself. They are heavy and have no movement. A Tencel denim might work though. I think my favorite is the rust skirt and cable knit sweater and the cream colored outfit with the plaid blazer. Well done!😊

I love the simplicity of these outfits! I’m too busty for a moto jacket but I’m loving my cowgirl boots with tights and skirts/dresses. The faux leather vest from Anthropology was a smart buy as well, thanks for styling your white one. I’ll be turning 77 in a few months and feel very confident wearing most of these trends but draw a hard line on mini skirts/dresses and clothes with cutouts. Wonderful video as usual and thanks for showing socks.

Hi Jamie, I loved the looks you styled, although I have to say, I prefer the midi denim skirt to the maxi one. Personally, if I was going to wear Mary Janes, I would style them without socks, but that's just me. I know it's a trend, but, at my age, I'm afraid it would look like I was trying too hard.🤷‍♀️ I recently thrifted a wool plaid blazer, which is at the cleaners right now, and I can't wait to wear it! As a waaaay over 40 woman, I don’t wear ripped jeans ever. I do like the plaid blazer look. Mary Janes and flats look frumpy on me unless they have a pointy toe. I liked the sweater you wore in the video, but did not see a link for that.

My favorite Mary Janes are Sezane’s Paula Babies, they have mid-heels and the straps are set low on the vamp, which is very flattering. But they are slingbacks; I wish they would make covered-heel versions for winter wear with tights or socks. They do have such styles, but with much higher heels, which I can’t wear.

I got a similar one from the Whistles (UK) website with the slit in the back, and it’s short enough to work for me (at 5’2.5”), but unlike Jamie’s bargain, it was kind of expensive (low 100s). I have still-decent legs for my age but I really dislike the “exposure” 😳that happens when you sit down wearing a front slit! @YourGuideToStyle I’m currently looking for a long midi or petite maxi black skirt for fall/winter that has a slit that is NOT right in the center! Off-center on one leg, or on the side to me is better. I live in the south so I don’t want to have to always wear tights with it to keep from having my lower thighs on show when I’m seated!

Your chunky loafers are nice, they’re not extremely chunky, which makes them more versatile and a more durable style. Avoiding a true lug sole makes all the difference.

Kimberly & Jamie I bought some slightly chunky black loafers last year and rarely wore them. Always felt frumpy and ended up reworking the outfit to wear different footwear. A few weeks ago I tried the slingback patent version by Franco Sarto and just love them! They seem to work well with many outfits especially (so far) ones with straight or slim straight jeans - even white ones! - that show my ankle.

I would love to find a plaid blazer and a maxi denim skirt to mix and match my wardrobe to. I don’t like the shorter jeans you are wearing, in style or not butI can work around that. I think I will try to find some ballet flats that I can wear, though that’s not easy on almost 70 year old feet. They want more support than that. 😂 time to go shopping! ❤

I prefer a suede or leather blazer to a moto jacket, which tends to look a bit tough on delicate-frame, petite me. I have a very small face and head and Soft coloring, too, and edgy clothes make me look like a little girl in Mom’s clothes. I’m 63, but I still wear above-knee skirts, my legs are worth showing, thanks to good DNA in that department. I don’t love showing my flabby, loss-of-collagen arms, though. I will do it if a tank or sleeveless top is the only way to stay cool, though, comfort first.
