Helloooooo guys!! I hope that you’re having a great weekend! This is an unusual time for me to upload a video, but that’s because KZbin decided to take forever to process it 🤦🏻♀ I’m glad I can finally publish it! Haha Here’s a video showing places and foods you should try in Fukuoka! Which one would you like to try out the most??

Hirao is a quiet nighbourhood, but this tempura place looks great. There are also good restos in Takamiya and Ohashi along the Tenjin - Omuta line.

Great clip, Sarah! I lived for years in Nakasu, Fukuoka and I really miss the food. Japanese food in general is at number 1 on my list of world cuisines. There are so many good dishes, but I think in Fukuoka a simple yakitori place with it´s great variety, a sashimi bowl at the fish market and a mild motsu-nabe with white cabbage tops. Mentaiko is great, but a bit pricey. It is a popular gift, but then they have to be whole and look nice. A tip is to buy broken ones at a third of the price. Also to shop after 6.30 PM, many good sashimi, seafood and uni etc at half price. Thank you for the clip, arigato!

That tempura restaurant was really cool. The queue that started after you left really does speak to how good that restaurant is. Mentaiko is something I see in a lot of Japanese cuisine video. I should really try and find some. Your face definitely did not turn red after drinking 😉
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
I definitely recommend the tempura restaurant! It was only 11am (which is pretty early for lunch) and the queue was already that long. Ahahahah thank you! You're so nice even though I was red throughout the whole video 😂😂
Hi. Great video again. I feel so full just watching. The Tempura place looked great. The machine be behind you there at the shop. Was it a Saki dispenser? Thanks for posting.

Hello Sarah, fantastic video as always! I love gyoza however... the 1st restaurant (izakaya) appears to be in Sakai Osaka based on the Tripadvisor link. Is that correct? That's pretty far from Fukuoka though.
@TokyoFoodieSarah Жыл бұрын
Hi thank you so much for comment and pointing that out! I am so sorry that the link was wrong 😢 I have updated to the correct link: www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g14127491-d7469970-Reviews-Tetsunabe_Nakasu_Honten-Chuo_Fukuoka_Fukuoka_Prefecture_Kyushu.html

That wallpaper behind you at the Motsu place is an interesting choice for a restaurant, lol. I'm curious about noise levels at restaurants there - generally, do people feel free to speak even if a bit loud, or do you try to keep it quiet at some restaurants and not others, etc.? Cheers!
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
Omg I didn't notice the background 😂😂😂 Noise levels really depend on the restaurant! A lot of affordable izakayas are very noisy (like with the case with no.1 Tetsu Nabe) but fancy izakayas or western restaurants tend to be a lot more quiet

Thank you for videos about Fukuoka. They really help me planning a trip to Fukuoka in December. Can't wait to travel in Fukuoka. Anyway, you can give me a quick hint why you don't like Yatai in Nakasu ? coz everyone was talking about Yatai in Nakasu, not Tenjin.
@TokyoFoodieSarah2 жыл бұрын
Glad you found the video useful!! Nakasu was a lot more touristy and it felt like the staffs only cared about how to rotate efficiently. I was pressured to leave as I was close to finishing the meal/drink. This surely differs on the stall, but I read online afterwards and a lot of people were writing the same thing about Nakasu in general

Hi Sarah, Which unagi restaurant in Fukuoka u visited & recommend? What is the name of the temple in Fukuoka for the umegaemochi? May I suggest to put names of places on your video clips hard to grasp the place for viewers not familiar with those places.

I know it feels hard in the moment but it’s best to just ignore the people staring at you. They will never have any impact on your life and you might bring them a fun story to share with friends. The weirder you get, the better.
