Nice containers, Erin. How about solar lights? Free electricity and black cords. Maybe rose hips in the window box? A bit of red…not as vivid, but red. Pity you can’t just cut some winterberry on the side of the road. It does get expensive if have to buy instead of foraging. 😊💕👍

Hi Erin I love your winter pots! I’ve done solar Christmas lights this year in my pots so no turning on or off! Love them. We went to dump leaves at our city dump and I grabbed lots of greenery there! lol then we pulled through the city recycle area and my husbands dumping ours while I found lots of one gallon water jugs for winter sowing! I’m a scavenger when it comes to gardening!

I found each and everyone of your evergreen pots to be very beautiful. You do a great job I’m going to copy you on a couple of my front pots. I love the snow tour we use to live in Alaska and in a way I miss the winter land scape. Here in southern Oregon we have green yes from rain but we don’t have to shovel it. We are living in a happy place where I have something blooming all year. Merry Christmas and I’m looking forward to watching you in the New Year Cheers

Hi Erin! Love your winter containers! Every year they’re a bit different, always fun to watch. Pine cone and real berries are pure winter gems, but can be quite expensive so I tend to forage for those in my own yard. Cones we usually gather with kids during our walks in the forests and for the red berries I go for cotoneaster, they keep quite well in the arrangements. I have unlimited supply of the red twig dogwood from my neighbor and all the greens from my own garden. Thanx for sharing! Happy gardening!

these remind me of my mom. the neighborhood my parents lived in had a garden club and they had all kinds of events. one was Christmas and she would make the most amazing baskets and win all the time. my favorite was a Christmas tree she did with no lights or modern stuff. She took acorn tops and dripped wax in them and put little red candles. The then dripped more wax on stained wooden clothes pins and attached the acorn tops with the candles on them and them clipped them on the tree. then she would go out the cotton farms and get permission to gather up the cotton that was left after harvest. She would get the cotton burrs and bolls, take tweezers to pick them out and string them on the tree. she then finished with red berries that were native (i don't know what they were). the finished product was simple and beautiful.

In the Northeast, our containers are our winter interest. Over time I have collected enough fillers to offset the expense of purchasing the greens....including pine cones. I found Trader Joe's has the best deal for fresh greens. Re-using what I have left of the styrofoam, but will not be purchasing more. I have switched to inexpensive top soil to fill containers and hanging baskets...a great anchor. Think your front door container is kinda awesome, love the grape vine wreaths! The little pom pom ball things in the Urn look like little Truffula Trees. Dogwood branches last for years in my garage; I use them to stake my amaryllis. Less is more...every container looks beautiful.

Erin, let's catch a plane to California, and I'll take you to the forest spots to collect Sugar & Jeffrey Pine cones!!! :) I adore them and I have giant tubs full of all kinds of cones. From teeny tiny 1.5" Red Fish Lake, Idaho pine to 18-20" Sugar Pine from the Sierras and everything in between. @@dglemmer1 ‘Wild Magic’ is sterile and patented so unfortunately the only way to get it is by buying plants. Annie’s Annuals typically has it but with the sale of the business I’m not sure what will happen with that.
