I tried to play with my daughter a month or so ago, and the instructions were so confusing, we gave up. She begged me to try again, so I decided to search online for better instructions. I stumbled across this video series on the game. After watching, we were able to play without a problem. It was very well done and made it simple to understand. Thank you so much for doing this and for helping me get some quality mom/daughter time!! :)

Your teaching skills are, bar-none, the BEST I've seen! You speak very clearly, have a great understanding of the game and your logic (in teaching) is phenomenal! I admire the way you systematically go thru the game while adding little 'what-not-to-do's' along the way. I play this game a lot, it is one of my favorites! Kudos to you and your thinking - your instructional abilities are precise...Spock-like, if you will.

I meant it, I finished up watching you and the kids playing the full game and am now very confident I'm ready for a local board game group I found that is going to play 7 Wonders next week. Thank you so very much for all the time you and your family put into these. You really have it figured out, from excellent quality video and audio to amazingly well laid out logical progression of the rules and then to watch you all play a full game solidifies all the rules and progression of play.

I don't know, I'm a very patient person, I'm not bored at all when I watch your instructional videos. I don't think they are boring at all. As for clarity, yours are the most clear I've seen on youtube. The explanations are very detailed and easy to understand because you lay them out very clearly and systematically. That's just one of the traits I love about your videos! And that doesn't apply only to your instructional videos, but also to your gameplay videos. You always review the rules as situations come up during the game so no one forgets why something is or isn't happening, they are simply great! Kudos again for a great great channel!

You are always my first option when I search youtube when I want to learn about a new game exactly because of those characteristics I mentioned. Tip: get slevves for the cards! The cards for 3-4 palyers are always used. for 6-7 not always. After a while one can see if the cards left are used or as new= the likelyhood to get a certain card as the others are on the table.

Fantastic presentation of the game rules! I was never bored even though I understand the rules (although I noted something I might have been doing wrong). Also, a great idea about interactive play by voting in the comments. I especially appreciated that you included some "gotchas" or common misunderstandings that players could potentially experience which really adds value to the presentation. Only thing I noticed worth adding was that any stage of a wonder can be built in any age. Great job!
@SkippyJon1511 ай бұрын
That addition about building wonders at any point was actually the reason I came to this video - building wonders was my last remaining question after reading instructions and watching a short video. I wanted to confirm the card used doesn’t matter (which this video confirmed) and that wonders could be built whenever (as long as they’re built in order… since there are three of them and three rounds, I wasn’t sure if it might be a “per round thing”) great addition to an already great video!

Hey, just asking, but if you have, let's say, 4 coin tokens. I know if one of your neighbours is producing one wood, you can't buy 2 wood from them. However, if they are producing one wood and one stone can you spend all your coins to get both resources? Also, if one of your neighbours is producing one wood and the other is producing one stone, then can you spend 2 coins to get the stone from one neighbour and the other 2 coins to get the wood from the other neighbour?

Super great video. Our group just started playing this game. The various reasons for selecting certain cards are already given by others. I would either take stone (offense) or brick (defense). Special Case, 6th turn: when you are down to a hand of 2 cards, you select one for play and the last one is discarded. Player aid and back of rulebook explains symbols, very useful during play. [minor point at 18:25, the military cards you showed for Luke are all Age II cards, not present in Age I.]

As someone who's missing out on a lot of good games because the prospect of teaching others to play is way too daunting, I have to hand it to you. You're a natural teacher and you do a great job. 30 mins is a bit of a slog, but you couldn't have made it any less painful and besides, it's way shorter than having to spend 2-3 unsuccessful hours working out a game around the table while people lose interest, only to put it back on the shelf never to be reopened. 7 Wonders gets a lot of stick for having poorly explained rules, so you've really helped out. I now send a link to your videos to the other players and get them to watch the tutorial before we meet. Thanks a lot, and keep up the good work.

Paul Sharville Thanks so much Paul :) Yes, my videos tend to be a little longer, as they are quite... thorough. Thanks for watching and sharing the videos!

hi again. i'd say this is your best intro vid yet. loved the 'fake' ending. from my experience as a Magic player, i'm gonna suggest a 'hate-drafting' move, which means you choose a card that would be valuable to other players. in this case, take the brick (Guard Tower). both Luke and Andrea need it to build their wonders AND i'm sure Luke is going to go the military route so denying him Military can't hurt AND it can't hurt to have some Military ourselves.

Hey Rodney. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. I just stumbled upon it after watching many 7 Wonders videos - looking for a good gameplay explanation. I must say, yours is by far the best explanation I've found on KZbin. I especially love the brief overview of the mechanic beginning at 1:45. Just that little thing helped enormously in understanding the rest as you went on. I am buying the game. Thanks! I am also going to continue watching your videos. Great job!

Hi Watch It Played, yesterday me and my girlfriend watched this video and I have to say that it really helped a lot tot, because it is easier if someone shows how to play the game then reading all the instructions. Keep up the good work! So from now on whenever we will need help - we now where to go! Thanks! =)

Thank you so much for making this video. We've recently got into board games like this having picked up ticket to ride and pandemic but this is by far the most complicated game we've picked up. This video was perfect and explained clearly all the rules including clearing up the odd holes we found in the instructions. Now we know how to play it it's a fantastic game. 😊

Hey man, just got this game along with Dead of Winter and found myself incapable of understanding the games through reading the manuals. You sir are so helpful and will definately be my go to game explanation channel as I can competently play (and explain) both games now. Thanks alot and please keep making these videos!

I was really confused about building a wonder stage (resources are infinite but still you have to put card facing down below the wonder stage you build) but this video cleared it up. I'm glad that you specifically said that it does not matter which card it is, first I thought the card that goes under the stage is used as payment (or partial payment) to wonder stage. Now I know this is not the case, thanks!

As all ways it is nice to be able to come back to the older vids and still be amazed at your show. And to see how far you and your family have come. Tell Luck to keep rolling the "Lucky Luke's!" and Rod stop rolling the "Wheatons!" The mats are a real bonus to the set up of the game.
