UPDATE (2024): Since the release of this video, the publisher has updated the rule book, and includes a "slight" change to the first player rules at the end of an era, which are now: "The player with the weakest military chooses which player begins the next Age. A player has a weaker military if the Conflict pawn is on their side of the board. *In a situation where the pawn is in the middle of the board, the player that **_"chooses"_** who begins the next Age is the last active player (meaning whoever played the last card of the previous Age).* " The bolded section is updated, and the italicized word is the change. Thanks to viewer Paweł Brzoza for bringing this to my attention!

These videos are the primary reason I wish I owned a tablet so I could just play these videos instead of explaining the rules! A phone is a little too small, heh. Maybe I should just play the audio and point to things like Vanna White, heh. I am told I explain rules well, but I always feel responsible when inevitably a first time player says "You didn't tell me that rule!!!" When I am SURE I did.

He definitely explains everything very well but other people do too. Typically a game I look up the rules for he’s done a video on. I like how he explains everything so he’s my go to. But if he hasn’t done a video for the game I’m looking for, I just watch someone else’s. Some people don’t explain things well like they rush everything sometimes. But eventually you find someone

Thank you! I found the manual quite lacking and hard to follow as a newbie. This video helped a lot.

If you get your opponent onto the lose 2 or 5 coins section of the military track and they have no coins to give to the bank does it become irrelevant or do they have to give the relevant amount of coins to the bank when they next get that amount of coins? Thanks

They lose what they can and ignore the rest.

My wife and I love 7 Wonders, but only ever get to play it with two players. I hope this scratches the itch without having to rely on the larger game's weird rules variants!

I have some questions that would appreciate if you could answer: 1. When we buy (trade) a resource, we only pay the coins to the bank and we don't need to add any cards to our city, right? 2. When building a wonder with a second turn benefit, we can only use it once and right at the current turn? And all the other benefits of Wonders are also one-timers? Thank you for the tutorial. It really helped.

1. Can you link me to the section of the video you are asking about? I want to make sure we're talking about the same thing. 2. Right, wonder benefits are one use at the time they are built.

Sweet, I love 7 Wonders but since the much of my gaming is done 2 player, it's not a game we go for often because of the "dummy player" element of the 2-player variant. This is on my radar for sure, thank you for making this video!

+Vexidus I hoped the video could help give people a good sense of how this new format works - thanks for checking it out.

Only thing I noticed is that you didn't explain the purple, Guild cards that show up in the 3rd age. What do those do in conjunction with the other colors are resources? can you expound on Guilds?
@WatchItPlayed9 жыл бұрын
+jayson olson They have additional ways to gain points, typically based on the buildings that have been put into play.

@@WatchItPlayed So as an example, "Scientists guild" will earn you 1 coin each for the city with the most green cards. Does that mean the coins will only go to the player's city with the most green cards even if I purchase this guild card? What about the victory points, same rules apply too?
@WatchItPlayed4 жыл бұрын
Wilson. L Hey Wilson, unfortunately I’m travelling over the holidays and not near the rules to check this for you. You may be able to find your answer on BoardGameGeek if you’re finding the rule book unclear.

hi there, great video! I have a question about scoring at the end of age 3. When checking victory points at military board - do you take into account only the points under current position of pawn? or if my partner has previously moved pawn to my capital's directon and uncovered field with 5 points (but i have bounced back), would they get these points too?
@WatchItPlayed8 жыл бұрын
It is based on the position of the pawn at that point.
