I have far MORE hope now that I understand Jesus kept his word and returned ~70AD just like he repeatedly told his disciples he would. I've never been this hopeful before in my life, and that's not an exaggeration. Futurism drains the hope away - I remember how it feels and it is a dark feeling compared to Little Season.

Hyper-Preterism Unmasked: Is Matthew 10:23 about 70 AD, or is it about Jesus coming as the King to Israel? The answer is found below in Zech. 9:9. Did Jesus "cometh" as the King of Israel riding on a donkey during the week He was crucified? If Matthew 10:23 is about 70 AD, Peter ignored the commandment given by Jesus in Matthew 10:5-7, when Peter went to the house of Cornelius. It did not take the disciples forty years to take the Gospel to Israel. In Romans 1:16 Paul said the Gospel was taken "first" to the Jews. This time period of the Gospel going "first" to Israel is found in Matt. 10:5-23, and Acts chapter 2, and Acts 10:36-38, and Galatians 1:14-18. Zec 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. The Old Covenant age died at Calvary when God ripped the temple veil in half from the top to the bottom at the moment His Son died at Calvary. There is no record in the NT of any person coming to salvation outside of the New Covenant between Calvary and 70 AD. Hebrews 7:12 proves there was a change in the law before 70 AD. We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant Church of Mount Zion and the blood of Jesus in Hebrews 12:22-24. This passage was written in the present tense before 70 AD. If the Hyper-Preterists (Full-Preterists) were correct the Old Covenant age would come back into existence if a temple were rebuilt, and animal sacrifices are renewed. Any basic book on Astronomy proves we are not now living in the "eternal" New Heavens and New Earth, because the sun only has a limited amount of nuclear fuel. We now understand the nuclear reaction inside the core of the sun, because of the testing of thermonuclear weapons. ==== Multiple Second Coming Visions in Revelation: (book not in chronological order ) Christ returns one time in the future. However, there are several different visions of His return shown from different perspectives in the Book of Revelation. Christ returns at the end of Revelation chapter 6, with signs in the sun, moon, and stars, as are found in the Olivet Discourse. Those at the end of the chapter are hiding from the wrath of the Lamb. Why would they be hiding if Christ is not present? The "kings", "captains", "might men", "free", and "bond" are also found in chapter 19 at the return of Christ. He returns at the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible, and the time of the judgment of the dead in Revelation 11:15-18. The beginning of chapter 12 is a history lesson containing the fall of Satan, and the birth and death of Christ, who is the seed promised to crush the head of Satan in Genesis 3:15. The Second Coming is found in the "harvest" of chapter 14, which is related to the parable of the wheat and tares in Matthew chapter 13. He comes as a thief at Armageddon, and we find the greatest earthquake in history in chapter 16. This occurs when the 7th angel pours out his vial. How powerful is an earthquake which moves islands and destroys the mountains? What is happening to the planet? He comes on a horse in chapter 19, right after the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Chapter 20? Does He come with the fire, and the judgment of the dead at the end of chapter 20, which agrees with what Paul said in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10, and 2 Timothy 4:1? (The time of the judgment of the dead is also found in Revelation 11:18.) There are no mortals left alive on the planet at the end of Matthew 25:31-46. Why does an angel come down from heaven with a key to unlock the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:1-2, if the pit was not already locked before that time? Are there wicked angels in the pit in Rev. 9:11? If the beast "ascends" from the pit in Rev. chapter 11, where was the beast before that time? Does your view agree with Peter in 2 Pet. 2:4, and Jude in Jude 1:6, when they both said wicked angels are already in chains of darkness? Revelation 9:14 proves some of the angels were previously bound in some manner. Because the two witnesses were bodily resurrected from the dead in Revelation 11, the "first resurrection" at the beginning of Revelation 20 is not the first bodily resurrection in the book. The principle of "Recapitulation" means there are multiple visions of His return.

@lightbeforethetunnel2 ай бұрын
@Daniel_Mahlangu Right! Exactly. The interesting thing is that I grew up claiming to be agnostic in a basically secular household. So, I read the Bible with eyes that aren't programmed, as it's all relatively new to me. I haven't been indoctrinated to interpret it any particular way by any worldly systems. And I can say that when I read the Bible it is overwhelmingly obvious that Jesus was clearly telling those around him that he'd be back within their lifetimes. He said it numerous times in different ways and he would preface it with, "verily I say unto you," or "truly I tell you" indicating that he wanted to draw attention to what he's actually saying. I think Jesus did that deliberately because he knew satan would deceive about it later on. So he did that specifically for us, basically. He made it as clear as possible and gave hints to take him plainly at his word regarding what he was plainly saying.

If the second coming happened in 70 AD, why isn't there any record of it? There were lots of believers who would have lived through the second coming of Christ but none, and I mean NONE, of the writers during the late first and early second centuries mention it. In fact, not only do they not mention the second coming of Christ, they clearly believed that the second coming, the resurrection of the saints and the judgment were to happen in the future. Where are the first person witnesses to the second coming of Christ and why didn't they show up to tell Didache, Barnabas, Hermas, Clement, Polycarp, and Ignatius that they had it wrong? Was the second coming of the Earth's Creator done in secret? Is it that no one knew that it had happened at the time and the world was just going to have to wait another 1500+ years until Luis de Alcasar figured it out? Didn't Paul tell everyone what to look for? Wouldn't those witnessing such an important event as the second coming of Christ have realized that it was happening? If they did, where is their testimony? Why is there no evidence whatsoever of a belief in the already past second coming of Christ prior to the publication of "Vestigatio arcani sensus in Apocalypsi" in 1614? A book that was written (i.e. a doctrine that was concocted) for the sole purpose of combating the Reformation, by the way. Maybe all the real Christians were raptured out! That would certainly explain the deafening silence of history concerning God's second coming. Except, then you'd have to believe that either John wasn't a real Christian or that once again all the late first and early second century historical evidence concerning John's death near the year 100 is wrong and that no one showed up to correct the record. (Astoundingly, there are preterists who believe this! - It seems there is no limit to how far they'll go to force both the bible and history itself to fit their eschatology.) Resting in Him,

My take on the narrative, of the Book of Revelation, is this: The Revelation was given to John by Christ to deliver His message to seven churches in Asia, written in signs for events that would soon take place beginning in the first century. The book concerns itself with the defeat of the enemies of Christ and His church, who were empowered by Satan, and ultimately he (Satan) was also defeated. The Jews were the first to persecute the Christians, documented in the Book of Acts, beginning with the stoning of Stephen, and continuing through to one of the last stonings of the Jews, recorded by Josephus (62 AD), the death of James, the brother of Jesus. Israel, with its capital city, Jerusalem, the adulterous harlot, or Babylon, rode the beast (Roman Empire - "We have no king but Caesar, crucify Him! Let this man's blood be on us and on our children"). The harlot acknowledged her adultery, "I am not a widow," meaning that she still has a husband, and he is not dead. The beast hated her, however, and eventually destroyed her (70 AD), and with the punishment reserved for the daughters of priests who became harlots, she was burned up by fire. God had been "married" to Israel, who never was faithful to Him, and because of her spiritual adultery, she was "executed" as Jewish law permits by the Romans. This allowed the Bride of Christ (church), the New Jerusalem, to take her rightful position at the marriage supper of the Lamb. She replaced the executed adulterous Old Jerusalem as this bride. Next, the beast, with the forced worship of its Emperor as God by all of its citizens, was dealt with. The beast continued to persecute the church and eventually was defeated by the rider of the white horse (Christ), whose weapon was the sword of the Spirit coming from His mouth (the gospel, the Word). By the 4th century, the Roman Empire declared Christianity the state religion of the Roman Empire and, in complete reversal, the church had triumphed. Eventually, Paganism was made illegal, conquering the beast. For a lengthy period of time (millennium), Satan was prohibited (bound) from empowering nations to continue to persecute Christians on a worldwide basis like the Roman Empire days, and simultaneously the martyred souls who were slaughtered came to life and reigned with an already reigning Christ. This allowed Christianity to flourish and progress throughout this period, uninhibited and spread to every corner of the world. Then, after this lengthy time period (millennium), an event yet still in the future, Satan will be released briefly to attempt to empower all of the nations for worldwide persecution of the church once again, hoping to finally destroy them (he surrounds the great city, the New Jerusalem). Just before this occurs, however, Christ intervenes and destroys Satan and then institutes the final judgment of all humanity. Then eternity begins with the righteous receiving their reward and the damned sentenced to eternal punishment. As far as the millennium goes, I consider myself amill. Things are definitely not getting better. IMO, if we are not currently living in the days of Revelation 20:7-10, then we definitely are not far from it. When the French Revolution happened, with its Cult or Age of Reason, the influence on Christianity in Europe was forever changed. Because of this, by the mid 19th century, you had the writings of Karl Marx and Charles Darwin, both who greatly influenced the 20th century. Here we are in the early 21st century, and Christianity in the West is in retreat. The religious "nones" are the fastest growing group in America. Churches in Europe are being turned into museums. Muslims are growing fast in the East. This is not progress.

I think Psalm 102 sheds a lot of light on this. Many people say the first few verses of this chapter might even refer to the Holocaust during WW2. Then, it says that favor will be shown to Zion's stones and dust by the servants of the Lord. Psalm 102:13-15. That then at this time the Lord will appear in His glory. Psalm 102:16. And that this is written to the generation to come, still not born. Psalm 102:18. This fits in with Matthew 24:32-35 and the parable of the fig tree. Luke 13:6-8, Hosea 9:10. Note the 3 times He came expecting to find fruit. The first time during the Exodus wilderness wanderings. And a judgment thereafter every time He came and didn't find fruit. #1 perished in the desert #2 Babylonian captivity, #3 70AD Micah 7:1 Before #4 Israel must be regathered, blossoming, and be living safely in their own land. Ezekiel 38:8, Joel 2:22. Israel was scattered and desolate in 70AD, not blossoming or living in safety. Jesus declared this in Matthew 23:37-38. Matthew 21:18-19 But as Psalm 102 and Ezekiel 38 show us, along with the parable of the fig tree in Matthew 24:32-35, Israel cannot be desolate at the time of Christ's second coming. Note again, the arrival of the presence of the Lord here in Ezekiel 38:20, just as we see in Psalm 102:16, and Matthew 24:29-30 accompanied with the shaking of the earth. And see the similarities in the plague that God will send among the ungodly. Ezekiel 38:21, Zechariah 14:13, Psalm 2:4 Because they had an evil plan: Psalm 2:1, Ezekiel 38:10, Psalm 21:8-11 Amos 9 Verse 15: No longer be pulled up It's interesting that while we see all these verses about being desolate, and being withered, and unfruitful, and judgment... within these same verses are verses about a fruitful remnant, a deliverance, and a salvation, singing... Amos 8, Joel 1:12, Joel 2:22, 32, Isaiah 30:27-30

@skadoosh20Ай бұрын
@SevenThunderful nah, they weren't wrong. Jesus was talking to his disciples about the end of the age, the tribulation and his return in Matthew 24-25. In Matt 24:34, he said, this generation shall not pass till all these things be fulfilled. There are other verses where Jesus talks about his return: Rev 3:11, 22:7,12,20 "I come quickly." In Matt 26:64 Jesus told Caiaphas that he'd see Jesus sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of heaven. In Matt 16:28 Jesus told his disciples that some of them would be alive at his return. In Matt 10:23 Jesus told his disciples that they wouldn't have gone over the cities of Israel before he return. These verses show his return was imminent for them living then. Jesus isn't a liar, so we know what he said is true. Matt 25:31-34 says that when he returned, he sat on the throne of his glory. His throne is on new earth Rev 21:5. Then he gathered the nations before him and divided the sheep from the goats; this was judgement. The great white throne of judgement is past. We live in an age after Bible prophecy. John was told in Revelation 22:10 Don't seal up the sayings of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand. Which means it WAS at hand for them living then. Rev 1 also says , things which must shortly come to pass. The kingdom of heaven is the new heaven and new earth spoken of in Revelation 21-22, Isaiah 65:17-66, and Ezekiel 40-48. Because "passed away" in the Bible means to pass by or to come to. So in his vision in Rev 21:1, John passed to new earth. Two earth eschatology is first earth and new earth coexisting.

Or like trying to get my grandma to understand a rap song from today, let alone the 90s. The Hebrew culture is a whole different culture. Word for word translations are good but try translating “out of thin air” or “the cat’s out the bag” word for word in Swahili and see how well they understand you 😂. This lesson starts on the assumption that "has already come" 20 years after the ascension of Christ means the same chronology exists 30 years later!" That would mean the 40 weeks of fetal development in pregnancy would continue ad infinitum! Mother Israel was impregnated in 30CE with the blood of Christ, 40 week(years), the pregnancy would have been fulfilled, through much pain, agony and loss of blood, in the birth of a viable child who would continue to grow and develop as the Bride of Christ! The 2nd Exodus, 40 years from the baptism in the water, Israel passed into the promised land, a type of heaven! Chronology is important because if it didn’t happen in 20 years, it doesn't mean it didn’t happen in 40 years! Jesus fulfilled the 7 appointed times (Feasts) in that 40 years, appointed by God in Genesis and Exodus! The Sun, Moon, and Stars were put into place and God told Moses the appointed times of Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of Fruits, Weeks or Pentecost, Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Tents or Booths, 8th Great Day! 40 years as the type Exodus, from bondage to Promised Land, antitype! Shadow to reality, physical to Spiritual! Hebrews 8 in a nutshell!

Jesus thought so . . . Luke 21:20-22 MEV "When you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you know that its desolation has drawn near. [21] Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, and let those who are in the city depart, and let not those who are in the country enter it. [22] For these are the days of vengeance, that ALL THINGS which are WRITTEN MAY BE FULFILLED. Did He lie, or did He tell the truth, and we just need to make a course correction in our understanding of the NATURE of Christ's coming? 2 Timothy 4:1 MEV I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will JUDGE the living and the dead AT HIS APPEARING and His KINGDOM:

Jesus told the High Priest he would witness Jesus coming in the clouds in Mt. 26:64 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Devin . . . Did Jesus lie to the High Priest and his cohorts? ( "ye" shall see . . . plural )

Rather, you please notice that Paul is not an Apostle, per the Jewish Messiah directly. Research food that had been sacrificed to idols (especially in Revelation). Please stop teaching and repent.

Any person that says it's all done is most likely afraid of the truth or just plain ignorant. Has everything happened that the Bible says will happen ? That's a no. If you say yes then answer this: what happens next , what's the end game ? If you have all the answers then I will be awaiting your KZbin podcast, until then stop bashing the preacher hiding behind a keyboard typing out incomprehensible sentences.

Kevin, Jesus said not one jot or tittle of the old law would pass until "all be fullfilled." Mt. 5:17-18 Doctor Luke clarifies it was "all things concern Christ" that must be fulfilled before the old law passed. Luke 24:44 Question Kevin: If everything written in the Bible about Christ (his second coming, the resurrection, judgement, etc.) has not already been fulfilled, then "every jot and tittle" the Law of Moses is still in place and valid, including the Levitical Priesthood, Temple worship, animal sacrifices etc.) If not why not?

In actuality: All the signs of Christs Presence are here NOW but this has only been true for about the last 50 years. The great commission to witness to all the nations has not been truly possible until the translation tools the internet provides became available. Today the Bible is available to over 90% of the people of earth in their own heart language. when. I say over 90% this includes sign languages which are only presentable in video format.

I'm a Pre-Trib. I do not believe that the OD in any gospel refers only to either 70 AD or the 2C. The more common name for the position you are rejecting is "preterism." Either "partial" or "full." Full preterism is a heresy as it denies the literal physical return of Jesus Christ to the Mount of Olives cp. Zech 14.

The irony is that language always changed. It doesn’t matter what it means to me and you. We must grasp what it meant from the writer to his contemporary audience. “Don we now our gay apparels” in “Deck the Hall” for example. Or like trying to get my grandma to understand a rap song from today, let alone the 90s. The Hebrew culture is a whole different culture. Word for word translations are good but try translating “out of thin air” or “the cat’s out the bag” word for word in Swahili and see how well they understand you 😂. Since the Holy Spirit uses translations in different intelligible languages, He uses the understanding of Hebrew culture, idioms and motifs.
