70 Series Kenmore Direct Drive At Vacation House

While on vacation at a beach house, I happened to walk down to laundry area, where I saw this...
I realize I left the rest of the house out, I didn't want to record anywhere else while there was family there, they don't really like being on camera. Perhaps in the future if we ever do visit that house again, if possible, I'll try to get more video of everything. And no, I did not get a full cycle video of the machine, it's not my place to do so.

Me too but that agitator sucks the only dual action I approve is the agitator that is in the 2009 whirlpool that jaykay18 has but otherwise there is not enough auger in the water and most of the auger is out of the water and that is not true with some kenmore washers but I still not approve of the kenmore dual action except the uncommon base is because there has to be at least 360 degree full circle of auger on the large load if not then those agitators are pieces of shit that can suck my dick and go to hell where it BELONGS

Nice Kenmore, but the dryer is the Whirlpool 27” design which isn’t the worst in the world but I’d have a 29” top filter dryer to go with a Kenmore 70 or 80 series washer. I actually had a 2006 Kenmore 27” gas dryer and it always worked fine on timed drying but never seemed to work on the auto dry settings and it was always like that from the get go. The 1981 Maytag DG810 that goes with my A810 only has a moisture sensor but always got a large load of towels dried no matter what, and were always completely dried when they were done.

Other than the cabinet and modern electronic control panel and abominable "HE2" sticker, it's the same thing as like my 89 Lady Kenmore dryer. There hasn't really been any, shall we say, "mechanical regression" in dryers like there has been washers.

lizboz true. This may seem odd, but Whirlpool copied the Maytag Stream Of Heat design since it uses a pretty much exact setup but the Maytag SOH drum is slightly smaller than the Whirlpool 27” design. Not really identical but very similar if that makes sense.

lizboz one dryer design no one would be able to copy is the 29” dryer design Whirlpool has. No other top filter dryers have been made that I know of, and the only other dryer with a lint screen on the top that was made was a Rheem gas dryer owned by a AW member somewhere in the Los Angeles area, and it even uses a identical belt and pulley drum drive system like in the one 1956 Whirlpool dryer video on my KZbin channel.

That washer looks in remarkably good condition other than the little spots of rust. I guess it would though if it has been in a vacation home for all of its life.
