I appreciate this video. I'm new to welding and first thought having all of the knobs/ adjustments on the outside would be an overall benefit. But, it makes sense that you don't want to accidentally bump them. I just wish you had experience with the LYG Q800D. Based on some reviews, there is a risk of flash burn from the side screens since they don't auto-dark.

Yes they don't dim but they are pretty dang dark out of the box. I wouldn't think I would get flashed by them

The $23,- extra is more than worth it, I'd go for the $ 89,- the better one, for this reason. Thank you again for sharing this with us !

Awesome Video, and thank you for the comparison, its really helpful to me as I am working on entering the welding field. I am trying to see what Welding helmet would be really good, and narrowed it down to the YesWelder Q800D and the LYG-M800H-B. I think I want to go with the Q800D. I really appreciate the video, and I like how you went into detail about the helmet. It would be really helpful to have sections or times for what you discuss either in the description, or in the Video (I've seen the Sections thing in the KZbin video editor thing).

I wonder what helmet is a step up from these. Like $150 budget.

The delay is how long it stays dark after you're done producing an arc. Not how long it takes to initiate the auto darkening...

What could you tell me about getting flashed thru the side windows, which is what most people complains in the reviews? I only use TIG or but not often MMA. I don't weld with other people welding aside me. Is this flashing a thing or is it just their paranoid? Bc peripheric view seems a great deal instead tbh!

I bought the Yeswelder helmet you are reviewing here (LYG M800H) and I have flashing problems with it. It also came a bit mis-shapened. The flashing issue occurred after owning it for 40 days. I am still in a never-ending correspondence with Yeswelder just to get them to replace the helmet. I've called and emailed twice. They don't want me to send it in, but say I need to create and produce a video of the problem. So I have to go out and buy the equipment for that, hire extra people to help, and then do video editing and send it in a small enough file for email? No thank you. I don't even know how in the world I would capture this from behind the mask. I'm not a video professional. This is absurd. They keep asking me to perform the same trouble-shooting steps repeatedly despite my assurances they don't work. I think they are having so many issues with these $75 helmets that they are trying to prevent returns altogether under warranty. I have spent way too much time on this. I do not recommend Yeswelder. In my experience they are not honoring their warranties by gaming their out-of-country status.

The controls on the outside is a horrible idea, and there is zero point to the outer shield. I've never even found large views needed. The only good thing is true color. The "head strap" on weld helmets is called headgear.
@beardedreviews7 ай бұрын
valid points!
@gsc5125 ай бұрын
The outermost shield is to protect the auto darkening lens. It's so you're not destroying it so there is a point to it from splatter, when cutting or arc grinding, which they are rated for. The controls on the outside. It depends on what type of work you're doing. If you're working on cars then perhaps not, but if you're doing something like a pole building working in the oil fields then having it on the outside where it can be quickly adjusted could be quite beneficial. 😅
