No its not going to explode. 120-125 degrees is not so big of a deal, you dont want to go above that, but in that range everything is ok. My guess is, that he very well knew, that the temperature shouldnt go above a fixed limit, and had the oil temperature in mind. I Always have my oil temp gauge visible, because i have a chiptuned small diesel. On the autobahn i can go above 200, but not for longer periods. When i hit 120 in oil temp, I will slow down again.
