In this thread people talking about engagement but the car that is capable of rear-bias and true power-on-oversteer is somehow more boring than a FWD turd. It's a well built, light, FWD turd, but still a turd. I've owned performance RWD and AWD cars (including my dailies) for over 15 years, and this, like the Focus RS or Corolla GR (to name comparable hatchback examples), is an amazing drivers car because you can make it dance. Threads like these are proof that most people rarely drive their car on the limit, because if you prefer boring FWD understeer to power on oversteer that these cars bring, my man, you're not the precious "driver" you think you are. It means you like boring FWD predictability compared to AWD or RWD, NOT engagement.

Great video, as always! The only thing I will say is that the 4.7 0 to 60 time is completely inaccurate. Many channels have tested them and it’s always been 4.3, 4.2, sometimes even 4.0. So seeing that this tuned golf are only did it in 3.9 was kind of disappointing to me. Other than that, though, it was pretty impressive. I love these cars and I can’t wait to get mine in a couple of years.

Average mk7 owner that can't afford the upgrade to mk8 moment. I came from 7R my friend, tracked it, modded it, enjoyed the hell out of it, was my favorite car i've ever owned. Got an 8R in 2021, wouldn't be caught dead in a mk7 again lmao. The capacitive buttons, the infotainment, the "poor quality" rear door panels? All a nothing burger once you find out how it drives and what the new engine changes (turbo, fueling), frontend changes (lighter subframe, suspension geometry), rear end changes (new diff capable of true rear bias) bring to the table. These aren't just small differences as the guy insinuated in the video, they are huge, IF you value driving. Everyone with track experience and driving their car on the limit knows them. But you people want to keep harping on about some buttons lmao, you get used to them in a day. Your mk7 is surpassed my friend, better save up or learn to live with it.
