Here's a cool update on Speed Perf6rmanc3's Shop Focus ST! As you guys previously saw, they had installed a PTE 6870 on this 2.3L Stroker engine to test out Precision Turbo & Engine's latest 1.05 V-Band exhaust turbine housing to see how a turbo with a very large turbine responded to an an EcoBoost engine. As we have shown you all in the past, exhaust back pressure is a killer on these EcoBoost 4 cylinder engines with the headifold design cylinder head. It is very important to promote exhaust flow on these engines in order to make high horsepower that will last a long time. Failure to do so results in exhaust gas reversion into the cylinder which usually results in harm done to the engine due to detonation, blown head gasket, etc. The new 1.05 A/R V-Band housing allowed us to hold peak HP all the way to 8500 RPM without any issue with the 6870. Strong, healthy, horsepower. Precision Turbo & Engine has just come out with this same turbine housing for the PTE 6062 Gen 2 Turbo and they hooked us up with one!
They wanted to make their shop Focus ST more fun on the street and the PTE Gen 2 6062 has always been a top performer with their EcoBoost & Mazdaspeed engine builds. Needless to say, they installed a PTE Gen 2 6062 turbo and 1.05 A/R V-Band housing and put Tuned By Nishan to work with re-tuning the car again.
More impressively, this car has been running the 2.0 TS Block (with our 2.3L stroker kit installed in it to make it a 2.3) for roughly 10,000 miles now daily driven, hundreds of dyno pulls for R&D, countless highway pulls in Mexico, and it's still holding up like it was meant to be there.
We will be racing the car this weekend at Pocono Raceway for the Slipstream Racing Events "Street Race Shootout" Roll Race competition on September 16th. More info on the event can be found here: www.slipstreamr...
Can't wait to see this same combination installed in their shop 2015 EcoBoost Mustang!
