Fast projectiles defeat body armor, heavy projectiles hit the armor hard but usually stop. Fast and heavy projectiles usually are the ticket but I got to say that level 4 did a fantastic job defeating that round. I was expecting it to just carry too much energy for the vest to stop it but the ceramic probably flattened out that bullet just enough to catch it. Awesome video

For the slow motion shooting try shooting a 5 gallon bucket filled with sprinkles & water with the 700NE. The sprinkles will look good on camera & the water being noncompressible it will cause it to shoot out the top. Just add the water at the very last minute to not desolve any of them. Also you could try shooting a large tank of clear epoxy as after it has started to gell to hopefully capture the temporary wound cavity. It would be a great display piece if it works.

As others below have said.....stopping the 700 Nitro is irrelevant when the front plate is hit with so much force that it actually compressed FLAT with the back plate you were probably also wearing. Not too hard to figure out what happened to everything in between. The more readily available and somewhat cheaper 460 Weatherby Magnum, which has over 8000lbs of force as well, would do the same thing, although I think with a 500g Barnes X (or any monolithic solid), it would go right though the front and back Lvl IV plates. It's an impressive plate! Well done to the team that make it. The slow'mo cam is delivering great footage. Definitely a great buy. Since the 700 is such an expensive round, I kinda feel bad asking for something to be shot, bbbuuutttt Since you asked, maybe continue with the tradition and do the pine board test🙂
@Andy-4133 жыл бұрын
Don't underestimate the peekaboo maneuver. When you use it, the enemies will be stunned by the fact someone came around the corner with a gun and said "PEEKABOO", that will cause them to look at each other in confusion and shrug. You can use their moment of confusion as an opportunity to shoot them with wild abandon, they won't even be able to react at all.
@LarsLarsen773 жыл бұрын
That confusion is necessary. Otherwise they'll just shoot you through the wall as soon as they see your muzzle come around the corner.

Watching Scott’s shoulder taking that recoil in slo mo is wild looking. At $100 a pop, how hard is it to reload those bullets?
@Hybris511293 жыл бұрын
If you wanted to cast your own bullets probably a lot cheaper but unless you want to invest in swageing (sp) equipment to apply a copper jacket or if this bullet is in fact a solid copper round then that will drive up the costs.

@@Hybris51129 Could hardened lead do the trick? 🖖🏻🇫🇷😎🇫🇷😎🇫🇷🖖🏻
@Hybris511293 жыл бұрын
@@philippefrater2000 I would think that would depend on the velocities of your hand loads. As for its effect on impact I don't have any idea. I only have a basic knowledge of bullet casting and its effects.
@beardedchimp3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking about that as well and concluded after the slap round disaster, Scott might be hesitant to use anything but new rounds since this is such high energy. Maybe he could use his test-rig to do the firing like his first videos post injury.
@chrishubbard642 жыл бұрын
Wow that was ridiculous. I honestly wonder if the sheer force of the impact would still basically take you out of the fight for some medical leave just from the raw power transferred into your body. They may not have to remove a bullet from you or stitch up a bullet hole, but they will have to treat you for taking an unprotected 20 pound sledge hit to the body.
@diggernick01 Жыл бұрын
A medical leave wouldn't be necessary, a hit like that would turn all the internal organs into a sludge. Don't forget that you are mostly liquid on the inside, and shockwaves transfer really well in liquids.

That was really impressive. One thing you should have done was held the plate up to your chest to show where that massive deformation would impacted on the body. You should also shoot another one of those plates with a 700 Nitro but in a plate carrier strapped to a block of clay. This would show just how nasty the impact would have been and also, whether not the energy transfer would have been enough to pull the vest off.

Удар пули такой силы, что бронепластина сломает ребра и разрушит внутренние органы. Такая пуля заставляет бегущего слона падать на землю, а слон весит несколько тонн. Думаю, человека такой выстрел отбросит на несколько метров.
@avernych3 жыл бұрын
ENG: Someone reviewed the Hollywood movie, but skipped physics at school, there is Newton's third law, then the shooter must also be thrown a few meters away. Bullets don't throw people away, there are tons of videos on KZbin demolishing this stupid myth from the movies. From such a shot at a person, it will either be torn in half, or, more likely, simply pierced through by making a huge hole.
@malavita123 жыл бұрын
@@avernych мы говорим о человеке , защищенном бронепластинами, которые Скотт испытывает? Человека не разорвёт, и дыры в нем не будет, но ущерб может быть летальным от такого удара.

I actually flinched when Scooter (Literally Scott...) Pointed the shotgun at Scott, before the second braincell had time to tap the first one on the shoulder and remind me that there was no way he could flag himself in that manner... Hey Scott I had a question and/or idea, can you make like an 'archway' with Ballistics gel around some body armor next time you have some to uber-plink? While most know the spalling from body-armor can be dangerous, I haven't seen any of the guntubers really demonstrate just how bad it can make one's day.
