J K Define 'some of the best tyres' ? I have Michelin Pilot Sport4 on my 700hp XR6T and they hook. Preserving the tranny in the biggest concern. My mate with a rebuild engine HSV GTS has similar power and is only hooking now since he ditched the oem contis, and fitted Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. You can only chop chop if you hook up.
