Thank you. I had the same problem w/the American DJ Fog Hog Jr fog machine. Turns out that it's just untightening the outgoing valve housing from the pump, similar to what you did (just approx. 1 turn loose) fixed the problem and the pump outflow worked again. Wondering why it came screwed in so tightly to begin with. Thx!

You're quite welcome and thanks for watching. I could not make sense out of that pump situation. Mine had this problem after a good deal of use and I can't seem to make it work consistently. It may be time for a new pump, but as I think I said this one went to a friend because I bought a larger (1250 watt) one and that was totally worth it. The output is way more than the difference in price. With the new one I can white out the outdoors.

Hi my smoke machine was pumping slowly at the start. I opened it as seen on the video. Cleaned up, and connected again. Can't seem to get the water to pump through my smoke machine. Stripped again and now I'm having the problem of yours with the o ring. Will try and replace the o ring tomorrow. Everything heats up fine just not pumping like it used to. Helpful video though

and witch timer on the market can I use I see them for the 400 and 900 and up will these work for the 700 if wired correctly

Hello there! Would it be possible for the heater to have a thermal fuse too? I'm not finding the issue in mine, although I'm sure it is the heater... the pump works if I force it, but plugging the heater directly to the power line won't heat at all... thanks!

I'll write some fog into my next film since these are working now. Also, what's your oldest laptop? Every time I take apart an older, heavily used laptop, the cable heads are all resistant, hard to get out, and fragile. I've had two occasions where the male pins came out in the female receptacle (Eurotophobia). Any solution besides saying, "be gentle." I couldn't even get out the LCD panel cable without plyers, it was jammed in there tight.

+Evan Kimball My oldest stuff is from 07. I always just pry gently alternating sides with a small screwdriver and have never had this problem. The large fog machines are fine. This is the first one I bought about 12 years ago. I am fixing it up to send to Jack Hinson kzbin.info/door/39f1KjWkCQgebmNIr7YA-A for his spring tour.

Ha ha, I just read that those sockets I always break are called ZIF sockets, zero insertion force. It epitomizes what I'm doing wrong. EF sockets is what I need, Extreme Force!!! Guess my mac's keyboard will never work again...

If you have one around this size, I would lean toward getting a new machine around 1200 Watts. They seem to be a much better value as they have far greater fog output.

looking to add a timer to my chevet 700 hurricane so I don't have to hold the button . the issue is its hard wired and I'm not great with electrical is there a video out there to show me how

Try eBay … they don't sell the older timers online at the various manufacturer sites no more, I know, I looked into it. So if your Chauvet 700 dates from The Mid-Aughts, you're out of luck. NOW, don't do what I did: Clamp the start button. It destroyed my machine! Find that timer. I know; a money pit. But I've been trying for the looongest time to get them both up and running again and it was a hassle. Fog coming nice from one; the other seems, eh, smoked? Good Luck!

Sorry, I was thinking of the thermal fuse. I don't know what the thermostat was set at and that machine lives far away right now.

Wear shock resistant gloves. There might be a highly charged capacitor etc etc.

Wyatt Barriger I’ve never seen a capacitor in most smoke machines that aren’t dmx controllable so i doubt they have them but modern smoke machines may have capacitors now

if i were to touch the copper tubes on my now broken fogger. i would burn my hand badly. thats when it was working. my fogger doesnt heat up at all now. to clarify why yours was not heating up.. was it the neutral wire from the inside of unit or the power plug?
