The reflections on the windshield can be corrected with a polarizing filter. I don't know of 70mai selling one, but you can get a sheet of polarizing filter online, cut a round piece and place it (in the correct orientation) with a bit of silicon glue on the edges. It worked wonders for me.

Thanks for this amazing review! That's how it's done! I do have some questions before I order this kit. Well, one question was answered near the end. I WAS going to ask if the phone app is necessary or if one can set things up without it. So that was answered that no, we don't NEED the app. What I don't know, however, is, for Android, is the app on Google Play or do they expect one to download it from some OTHER site? If so, that's a deal breaker right there! Ok, questions: 1) Being very picky about video, our current cameras, only 1080P, but the video is perfectly smooth. No juddering at all. I notice that there does appear to be some juddering on this camera (at least the front one). Have you tested this with different SD cards? For our cams, I use SanDisk 64GB High Endurance Video MicroSDXC Card, high speed. With these, zero lag in the video. No judder. I did notice that the info on this camera (front at least) says that it records in 60 fps, but only in 1080p. For 4K, it only records at 30fps. Have you tested the front cam at 1080p, 60fps and if so, did the judder disappear? 2) I notice that in your video, the rear video is embedded inside the front video. Is that the only way to view or is there an option to view front only then rear only, so as to not have the overlay, which of course, obliterates the front video? 3) On Amazon, there's confusion about the parking cable (with the 3 wires). For the camera, it talks about the UP03: B09TDZ6FWZ being required. When I go to see that cable, there is a contradiction right in their info. It says, "Mini USB" near the top, but down into the descp. it says it's USB 3 and ONLY for CAM 350. Do you know which is correct? 4) Being in the front windshield of the car, when in direct sun, parked, the inside temperature can go very high. Can this camera handle that? If not, how difficult to slide it out to store somewhere, without the sticky thing coming off? 5) Can you set date/time without using the app? I just downloaded the app, but in reading the reviews, almost all reviews are saying that the app just doesn't work. Many/most have problems with connecting the camera to the app and the connection dropping. Others complain that when it does connect, most of the "things" don't work right. So I'm of the mind to not use the app. Plus, some are also saying that this app gathers PERSONAL INFO, so I read through their "Privacy" thing and they actually admit to doing that. So I'll be removing the app, but I need to be sure that I can set date/time and all other settings directly on the camera. I don't care about copying videos to the smart phone. If I need to copy, I'll just do like I do right now. Remove the SD card, pop into a computer and copy them directly. So can date/time and all other settings be done on camera without app? Thank you for the clear explanation. Did I miss the rear camera video? 4K front is obviously clear but many 1080p rear cameras are almost unusable! A review from India shows the overexposed rear camera, making the A810 less attractive.

I've used a810 for a month now, very disappointed as the camera does NOT always start recording when I start my vehicle, sometimes it does sometimes not. I literally have no idea why it's not recording every time, and you'd be very disappointed to find out it did not record anything until you connect it with mobile. Note there is no issue with the cable connection or power supply, press the turn on button it does start. A bit waste of money as it's not a cheap camera 😞

I just recently bought it too. After using it for about 2 weeks. This happened to me. It started happening to me when I tried to connect the dashcam to my phone. I don't know if it is just coincidence or it has something to do with it. Btw, I am already using the latest firm update. Do you have an update with your dashcam? were you able to fix it?

Iam using a810 for 2 months, i didnt faced any issues as it always starts to record when i turn on ignition, and no connectivity issues with app, so contact the customer care of 70mai, may be urs particular units have manufacturing defects

70mai is missing Buffered Recording, which, in my opinion, not having it makes collision detection almost useless. The quality is undeniable, and I love mine, but I just keep all collision detection settings off. They are just a numb third leg that is being dragged as you try to walk.

Countries with high crime-rate have a serious problem with current dashcams: privacy of information. If a camera gets stolen, the saved videos are not encrypted, exposing the owner's daily on-the-road routines to the worst possible characters in society. That may have no meaning to developers in safe countries, but it is potentially deadly for users in dangerous ones. It is so bad, giving up on resolution, frame-rate and battery life is an option that would certainly be accepted, as long as secure information can be ensured. And there is no dashcam manufacturer resolving that issue right now.

In Europe, data is a big priority on the web as people and publishers are concerned about privacy breaches that can lead to fines and censure, or provide information to criminals to carry out burglaries or bribery. License plate blurring also provides a form of protection against stalking and harassment.
