70mai Omni dashcam problems I'm having

I've had this unit for a couple of months and can't seem to get it to function as advertised. Very frustrating.

Dude it’s because your in the view mode in app it works fine with all the functions and voice commands when the app is closed it won’t do anything when your on the app that’s how it’s built I don’t get how everyone has problems with this cam I got it 5 months ago and everything they say it does it does lol it works flawlessly picks up ppl if they Are around my truck for a few mins when it’s in surveillance mode and even when I bump my hood it starts recording I’m really thinking it’s user error with this thing

Yeah me too I’m getting really disgusted that it requires my phone app to be working and I think it’s important that people know this thing one function less you have Wi-Fi in your car so you’re either gonna have to take your car down to your cell phone provider and get Wi-Fi and a phone number to pay for an extra phone number every month. Or you’re gonna have to pay extra for a Wi-Fi hotspot on your phone so just be aware this thing won’t work without Wi-Fi and it’s disgusting. They should’ve told us that.

Hi Dave, It is the same with my 70Maimirror dadcam as well. Thiems is normal as the idea is that you connect through wife remitely so you are not in the car.

While the app is connected to the camera ("visiting" the camera, through Wi-Fi), the camera does not respond either to its buttons being pressed or to voice commands. You have to disconnect the app from the camera, then the camera will react to button presses and voice commands again. While you are driving, the camera is recording and responding to voice commands, you are not supposed to be using the app connected to the camera. Connecting to the camera by Wi-Fi and the app, is meant to be used while the vehicle is stationary and you want to look at some footage previously recorded by the camera. When the app is connected to the camera, the app takes control over the camera. That is why the two things (voice commands / app connection) do not work at the same time. It is unclear what "problems" you are referring to, the camera (device) is working as intended.

Thank you for that explination everything makes sense now as to why the camera does not respond when using the app. It is actually very intuative one of the Best cameras I'v had to date.

i had issues with mine as well until i updated the cam firmware via the app, all is good now and working perfectly

I SEE I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH ISSUES WITH THIS CAMERA. IT IS INSTALLED FOR 24 HR PARK AND IT DOES NOT DO THAT, INSTEAD IT SAYS IT IS NOT INSTALLED FOR PARK MODE. I AM TAKING TIME TO TRY TO FIGURE IT OUT.

Everything seems to be working fine, you just need to understand english ... when you connect your tablet to your 70mai dash cam you can control it from the app, don't need the voice control while doing that and as well is being explained on last step before clicking Confirm ...
