Thank you for posting this parking mode surveillance test. Was looking for such a video trying to see if I should return the 70 Mai Omni back to Amazon. Picked up two of the Omni dash cam just recently mounted it, got the ADAS calibrated, and have not done a parking mode test.

it only appears to cover the front windshield area , plus it times out at 30 seconds . i also did a recent test of vibration detection and was able to open a door without it detecting me.

Thanks for the video. I just ordered it as i wanted a dashcam without multiple cameras covering my car. Were you able to test impact detection as well?

yes, at its highest sensitivity , it will detect driving over small pot holes . however in park surveillance mode i was able to carefully open doors without setting it off . and there is no motion tracking , just a simple 30 second routine , circulating around .

it's about 12yrs old , i bought it off aliexpress. i like it because it has its own battery and plus it's okay to manually set the camera direction for police encounters .

You can setup the parking mode position in the app to detect at different viewing angles you want it to be set/monitor

the need for it to see most of the head and torso , the closer proximity to the camera . and tinted windows all come into play when setting it to detect motion in any other direction other than out the windshield , this is evident by its inability to follow anything detected in the front windshield past either windshield post .

So it has to turn red to start recording? If that's the case then a suspicious person can just walk up, key your car and run without any video evidence. They should add an option to instantly record when a person gets on view start recording within seconds, for it to be release at year 2023 its stupid the makers haven't thought of that.

not only that but motion detection won't work inside the car because it needs to see most of your body. and if you open the door gently, vibration detection won't activate , so someone could actually break in ,steal whatever without this thing ever going off.

Have questions if the bad guys like your car cams, decide to break the window and get all yourcams , now what ? Thats what worry me/ im think making some foam box cover ut just left the lense stick out😂

are they going to take the time to remove the 360 degree cameras i have mounted? unless they know how to unmount the omni chances are they'll end up breaking it. and the mirror cam ain't worth much without the battery pack, which is mounted inside the console.

it will not detect from the rear, and on impact it will only do it's 30 second routine .

no. if facing forward it will only detect its field of view , which is about from windshield post to post .
