Fantastic kit and great service. Highly recommended,

This comment is what you call a fake review. If you had experience with their customer service, there was a problem with the product. If you really had a fantastic kit it is because it was awesome and you didn't need any additional help. What customer service do you need with epoxy? These comments are all over amazon and other places.

If u completed the grip . Can u do another layer of epoxy over the carbide again to make it thicker ? Or would i have to shave it down and start over again ?
@vanniek7111 ай бұрын
You should be able to go over the top of the carbide. Just make sure it’s clean.

I know that you obviously can't go into the tang because of the grip safety. If there isn't a grip safety, do you think we should still stay away from the tang? Does it chew up your hand if you go that high on the grip?
@vanniek714 ай бұрын
Few reasons I personally don’t go in to the tang/beavertail as high- first, yeah it chews up your hand, 2nd if you need to reposition your grip it makes it harder for your hand to slide higher.

i still have this grey p80 17 frame laying around all cleand up ready to go for a stipple job but somehow,i would like to try this method. i just have to find out how to create clean borders.ocd ya know😂 taping is meehh...but i'm around 0,8 - 1,0mm into the frame with my recessed broders... so i just paint the adhesive on clean and get clean borders? 🤔
@vanniek71 Жыл бұрын
Combo of masking off around the border and a little cleanup with the provided supplies and you can create perfect borders. Some guys even like to dremel a line for their borders… all depends on how creative you want to get!

I think these kits are genius Can I do silicon carbide over a previously stippled frame? Just looking for better function
@vanniek716 ай бұрын
Yessir, essentially the frame in this video is stippled (more or less) may need a but more epoxy to fill in the dimples but it works fine

I’d like to hide deeper valleys in my backstrap for a clean even look. Could I apply a layer of epoxy first, let it cure, then reapply and do the normal procedure?
@vanniek719 ай бұрын
Yup. Or put the epoxy on thicker in that area, few ways to do it
@actontreadway1168Ай бұрын
use jb weld to fill in the gaps first and then sand and epoxy over that after it cures.

Great work/product.. Does this work on a Hogue grip?
@vanniek714 ай бұрын
I think the Hogue’s are a bit too soft. You’d want a solid surface to apply it to so it doesnt flex when you grip it. Might work for a while but I think eventually it might start to flake. That being said I’ve never applied it to a Hogue grip so I’m not 100% sure how it would perform

I bought this and it works great, but has really started to wear down with daily use. What is the best way to add more silicon carbide to an area that is worn down? Do I need to grind down to polymer each time or can you just refresh it?
@vanniek719 ай бұрын
Have to tried cleaning the grip off? Dish soap and water then scrub it with a nylon brush to get the dead skin and crud out of it. If you do need to re-do it scraping off as much as you can with a file, scraper etc and then re-coating is your best bet.
@jaredw2892 жыл бұрын
how long does it last compared to something like the talon grips?
@vanniek712 жыл бұрын
Significantly longer. Total lasting time TBD because I haven’t been able to wear one out yet. I've found Talon grips are fine for short term and temporary grip. Then eventually the glue fails and you need to clean them off and reapply. Carbine is a more permanent application. Think of it as Perma-Talons that you don't have to re-apply
@JerseyLowLife-gn1xi Жыл бұрын
Is this strictly just for polymer grips only, or would this work on an aluminum grip from Icarus precision? And are these the same grits/texture I can find in a hardware store sandpaper section?
@vanniek71 Жыл бұрын
The epoxy I supply works on all kinds of substrate - polymer, aluminum, steel, wood, glass etc etc. I don’t know of any hardware store that carries silicon carbide grit, but you can source it online fairly easy, but usually have to buy it in larger quantities. The kits we provide include everything you need in one place.
@EmbleerFrith10 ай бұрын
How do you redo the grip if it wears off? Do you remove it completely somehow and redo it from scratch?
@vanniek7110 ай бұрын
You can scrape a majority of it off, but the great thing is silicon carbide doesn’t wear out quickly. It will last for years and years if you just clean it every once in a while and brush the crud out of it
@joshuaking88719 ай бұрын
How well would this work on aluminum frame?
@vanniek719 ай бұрын
Works great, follow instructions the same as you would for Poly, Steel, G10 etc. The epoxy bonds well to pretty much anything so you would be good to go!
@mariozamora37782 жыл бұрын
Also what one would you pick for edc appendix
@vanniek712 жыл бұрын
Really depends on your preference, but considering the close proximity to your body I'd suggest the 60/90 or the 120/220. If you are unsure, go ahead and pick one or the other I just listed and if I see your name come through I will throw a small bag of whatever of the two you don't pick in to your order!

It happens for a bit and then it will stop. You can keep brushing it, but I just use the pistols and after a few times the loose stuff is mostly gone.

Hey Mario, thanks for watching and this is a kit, I wished someone had one available when I first started doing these grips and had a lot of people asking, so decided to gather everything needed and offer an "easy button" so people don't have to chase stuff all over.
