I'm also getting tired of stippling. I see you have SC on your carry gun. Do you use the same grit on it, too? Did you have to sand it to reduce the aggressiveness?
@Osprey1994 Жыл бұрын
Some spots look a tad uneven, but I have heard that this is really nice for competition or duty. The cost of having a grip professionally stippled compared to this is another factor for someone that wants to spend most of their money on ammo.

Personally, the carbide does a better job when it comes to sweaty palms. Stipple polymer doesnt cut it when my hands get sweaty on a big match
@xsboost25psi4 жыл бұрын
@@gatoose702 No doubt. I've never used this method but I've used silicon carbide grip tape and it makes a huge difference. When shooting my Canik tp9 elite combat in the southern heat and humidity I quickly found the factory grip, which felt great in ideal conditions, were terrible with sweaty hands. I might try this method with my other guns that need a little help.

Say I have a color grip if I put some tape in letters would it be hard take off after or ruin the grip to have the color frame show a lil in the silicone carbide grip?
@svbarryduckworth6283 ай бұрын
Epoxy cure times are greatly influenced by ambient temperature. If you are using a fast-cure epoxy take this into account because on a very hot day it will cure even faster and you might run out of time. Pick a longer cure epoxy or a very cool location. Epoxies used in fiberglass work sometimes have working times closer to an hour or more depending on the ambient temperature and may take 24 hours to br safe to handle or use . Some epoxies even have different hardeners to chose from for different temperatures and cure times -slow, medium, fast.

Thinking about doing the same thing to my glock, plus adding some defined borders with my dremel, just to try to go for a more cleaner look. Any suggestions !!?
@gatoose7025 жыл бұрын
The border work is very difficult. I tried it and failed on the m&p shield. I would get that done by a pro...unless you are the pro. If so, go for it and let me know it went! Main keys: -Masking and taping is very important. Take your time. - dont feel rushed when using 15 min epoxy. The process goes by quick. - leave it overnight. Dont mess with it after you finish.
@josephsanchez8754 жыл бұрын
Try using less epoxy.. you dont need it that thick.. then remove the tape before it fully dries.. same principle as painting a wall with borders. If you wait till it dries u will get micro peeling and chipping making it less crisp.. did it on my hogue rubber grip.. came out really good

The 60/90 grit silicon carbide looks pretty aggressive, does it tear up your hands? Would you change to a different grit if you do another gun?

Its actually on the finer side. As far as tearing up the hands, not at all! If you're unsure, get the smaller quantities and buy the different kinds to see what works best for you before committing!
