The book "IT," basically is the history of Old Derry in addition to being the present story. King breaks away from the main plot to describe several events in great detail, including the fire at the Black Spot, the explosion at the Kitchener Ironworks, Claude Heroux slaughtering people at The Silver Dollar, etc.

I feel like every video I've watched about this movie glances over Bev's abuse by her father. The blood is a representation of her reaching womanhood, often a traumatic event for young girls. Especially since Bev has no mother to help her with it. Her father begins to to become far more abusive because she looks like her mother as she ages and matures. He is sexually attracted to her, hence why "The Smell" increased that summer. It is a very dark circumstance that is very creepy. King shies away from no subject matter.

when richie went back to the arcade we see a flashback of henry calling him gay. then pennywise sings the song “i know your secret, your dirty little secret” pennywise could be teasing richie that he is in love with one of his best friends. when the three doors appear in front of richie & eddie they open the ‘very scary’ one and it is a closet. this could mean that richie is scared to come out of the closet (meaning richie is gay) then we see eddie getting impaled and dying which richie is effected the most by this and then later screams as the house comes falling down. this then shows us a flashback of richie carving his initial and eddies initial into the bridge. the bridge is where you carve your & your lovers name as told to us by henry bowers in the first movie when he is carving his name into bens body. therefore this theory is implying richie is gay & in love with eddie. #reddie

I also saw the “I love the books but hate the endings” running joke as a meta joke about how a lot of people talk about how they find the endings to Stephen King’s stories (generally miniseries but it extends to the books) disappointing. As well as a signal to the audience that the movie ending will be a different from the book. Also, the Pomeranian bit reminded me of the ghostbusters scene with the stay puft marshmallow man. A thing I noticed that I was surprised you didn’t mention was that Richie got caught in the deadlights, similar to in the book when he joins Bill in the ritual by looking at the Deadlights.

I think everyone dislikes stephen king book endings because of his writing style. He has stated he doesn't plan his chapters he is more of an improv writer. That can work for the start of the book when you're inspired. But I think it's also the reason the middle and endings of his books can get so dull when they have a strong start.

Saw it last night, it was a very fun ride, yes it's not as scary as the first one but IT keeps on giving creepy moments and tense scenes. IT can't be killed IT is the deadlights, The Losers just "Killed" IT true physical form just like in the novels, mini series and movie adaptation. The three deadlights is still active, but the physical form is destroyed so IT will come back in next 27 years, and there's no sequel because that's how IT ends in Stephen King novel.

Also Bill starts to stutter when he is back in Derry as a grown up, meaning he is starting to face the old fears he had in his childhood. Which also means that what ever skills and courage he gathered to defeat Pennywise has rusted and he has to start from the bottom all over again, which further contributes to his character development.
