So you probably won’t see this but I can explain the whole miniseries in the books thing. So in the Stephen King multiverse(macroverse what ever) both our world and king himself exists within his multiverse. In fact he wrote about a car accident he had(irl) but in the book it was caused by one of the evil entities (i believe from the dark tower series) trying to kill him. It’s weird

Fun fact: The giant storm that almost destroys entire Derry at the end is a throwback to a line in the novel. The mother of one of the Losers said: "If you kill a spider, it's going to rain". I think the biggest disservice the It remake film did was reduce Mike's character and his family's connection to Derry and It specifically. The whole fact that Mike's father had a run in with It and tried to document weird occurrences in Derry makes perfect thematic sense when Mike later grows up to be a librarian in Derry and the one who stayed behind to keep an eye out for Pennywise. I thought overall the movie was great (scarier in several ways than the miniseries) but that change is such a waste.

I just did a little essay in my Maine literature class, about how Pennywise represents the different issues in Maine communities embodied as a supernatural being that influences violent events that are representative of the issues in small town life. King uses Pennywise and Henry Bowers respectively as an anti-idyllic image of Maine in contrast to how Maine is traditionally perceived as some sort of “oasis” away from the troubles that plague the rest of the country. Reading it again after I started studying local history has been such a new experience especially living near Bangor. This is a great video and I used it to help me contextualize the timeline for my essay, so thank you SO MUCH for doing this.

Lol thats a video i wanna see. Maybe the 1985 eggs werent pennywise's first brood, and mary poppins decided to leave the family business to help kids instead of eat them. Perhaps she realized that, similar to screams vs laughs, a childs happiness is more sustainable than their fear? And what if every other movie and book about shapeshifting monsters were all pennywise's children?
Pennywise came from Macro verse, which was basically his universe. He was a creature clown by his Deadlights. He was actually a spider called Deadlights. His real name was Deadlights and Deadlights was an actual human from Macro verse. Robert Gray was a Deadlight monster. He didn't know what anything was. But when he sleeps for 27 years, he is among his hype for food. The turtle was helpful for defeating IT but it's never seen in IT and IT chapter 2. That's a Horror Theory.
